The Fiscal and Monetary Policy and Economic Fluctuations
Discuss the current economic situation in the U.S. as compared to five (5) years ago. Include interest rates, inflation and the unemployment rate in your explanation.
Five (5) years back in 2008 interest rates were curbed several times in an endeavor to economic stimulation. The rates of interest commenced on January 2008 at 3.5% and by the climax of the year in December 2008 the rates of interest had been brought down to 1%. At present, the rates of interest are said to be the three-quarters of one percent lessened resting at 0.25% as per the Fed. As per the Consumer Price Index (CPI) the procuring power of the dollar has grown over the previous five years. 2008 saw the buying power of a dollar had the same value. However, that same dollar possesses different buying power in the year 2013. The dollar’s purchasing power bill in 2013 is currently worth $1.08.The present situation of the economy in the United States is that the unemployment is continuing at its original rate. The economy is constant to progress since the time of recession but, at a lesser rate than what society seemingly expects. According to Time Business & Money, the growth rate of the economy did not exceed than 2.25% and in the fresh quarter it has gone down a per cent. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics U.S. Department of Labor the present unemployment rate is 7.3%and the unemployed resting at 11.3 million is yet a large amount of U.S. citizens being unemployed. Five years back in 2008 the unemployment rate ranged between

For this week’s assignment, I am going to write about what sources of funding might be available for the start-up company called “Sun Dry Fruits”. The company will offer organic fruits, dried in the sun. The raw material will be acquired from the local farmers who are compromised on planting pesticide free fruits. The funding is for the equipment to dry the fruits, rent, promotion and utilities. From this week’s readings I have found several sources for small start-ups; however, the funding that will satisfy the needs of the company is the State and Federal loan.…

In my view there is no dominant strategy for either driver 1 or 2. There is no pure strategy instead there seems to be a mixed strategy for both drivers. There are 8 restaurants that provide dine in services with only 2 of them offering late night dine in after 12am and 11 restaurants that offer takeout services (Yelp Inc., 2013). Domino’s pizza is among those establishments that provide late nights deliver services up to 2am. However, the Domino’s takeout services are not provided after 10pm. With that said there is a demand to establish another Domino’s pizza that will provide takeout services beyond the hours of 10pm. This will not only benefit the residents in the area but it will also be beneficial to the nonresidents and party goers that would like to grab a bite to eat after taking part in the area’s late night…

The economy has shown signs of improvement over the last couple of years. For example, the housing market has begun to rebound with property values starting to level off and home sales increasing. However, the growth factors pale in comparison to those suppressing the economy as a whole. The current macroeconomic situation is one of concern about the country’s ability to turn the economy around in light of the constant threat of cutbacks in government funding, inflation, and continued high unemployment rates.…

Analyze the current economic situation in the U.S. as compared to five (5) years ago. Include interest rates, inflation, and unemployment in your analysis. The United States is the most technologically advance country in the world, not to mention the largest. Everywhere you look or read the headlines are saying that the U.S. economy is in a great shape. Is that really the case? There has been a spike in the number of houses being sold; interest rates have hit rock bottom, and a record weakening in the federal budget balance. With all those things taking place within our economy, it is still not where it should be nor is it close to where it needs to be.…
