Dylan O’Brien may look like a normal teenage boy but in reality he is a costar in a major tv show and has starred in several movies. Hello my name is Olivia Dimas and today I will be telling you a little bit about Dylan O’Brien. In this speech I will discuss Dylan O’Brien’s early childhood, his rise to stardom, and a bit about what he does today. “Dylan O’Brien was born in New York on August 26, 1991. He grew up in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey until he was 12 years old when his family moved to Hermosa Beach, California” (Portrait Magazine). Dylan graduated from Mira Costa High School in 2009, and had planned on attending Syracuse University in fall 2009 as a sports broadcasting major, but decided to move to Los Angeles for an acting career instead. With his father being a camera operator and his mother a former actress he had the makings of becoming a star. At the age of fourteen Dylan decided to start posting videos to youtube and soon after created his own channel. As he began to gain viewers Dylan was approached to be in the web series “Sweety”. While working on the web series Dylan met an actor that connected him with a manager. That manager then got him the opportunity to audition for the tv series “Teen Wolf”. After reading the script for “Teen Wolf” Dylan decided that he wanted to audition for the role of Stiles as opposed to the main character Scott. After four auditions he got the part as Stiles and is still on the show. In April 2013 he was cast as Thomas in The Maze Runner which will be coming out shortly. O'Brien has produced, directed, and starred in a number of comedic short films produced for and released through his personal YouTube channel. He is also currently a drummer for the rock band “Slow Kids at Play”. In conclusion Dylan O’Brien is a celebrity of many talents and has a wide range of things he likes to do, he is definitely a person to take interest in.

To begin with, although Dylan doesn’t see his father at all, he clearly has a very positive and loving relationship with his grandparents; Eric and Fiona Kane. “Over the years, they’d been to the zoo, the beach a few times and watched half a dozen Disney movies”, this shows us that Dylan and his grandparents have spent many time being together and they clearly care about Dylan: “Your our grandson, Dylan, and we love you just as we love the others”. Dylan also enjoys spending time with them and “he loves them for their patience”. This relationship that Dylan has with his father’s parents provides a very positive focus in the novel which outweighs the negative relationship that Dylan has with his father.…

To me Chris McCandless was a dedicated and adventurous young man. He was very dedicated to the thing he loved. When people told him what to do he very rarely listened to them, so to me he was very independent. When he was put to a job he was very dedicated to it, it didn’t matter what it was. Like when he moved to the town where Wayne Westerberg live he was put to work and all the people he worked with agreed that he was a very hard working person.…
