Speech Title: DRUG ADDICTION

Specific Purpose:To inform my audience about drug addiction

Central Idea:For my audience to know what to look for if someone you know or love are hooked on drugs

Introduction
Attention: Its possible that someone you love or know is or at one point was addicted to drugs. Drug addiction is growing rapidly here in the united states and throughout the world. It effects everyone not just one person but everyone regardless of age. According to a recent study in 2012 there were 23 million people addicted to drugs.

Preview:(I.II.&III below) Today I am going to talk about some of the warning signs of drug addiction, then some effects drug addiction have and finally some steps to overcome drug addiction.

Transition: According to Wikipedia drug addiction is a compulsive need to use drugs in order to function like a normal person.

Body
I. What are some warning signs of a drug addiction
A. The first thing to look for is changes in physical appearance like 1. Bloodshot eyes with pupils larger or smaller also 2. Sudden weight gain or loss, unusual smell in breath, or body

B. Second thing is changes in behavioral signs 1. Dropping in attendance and performance in work or school and 2. Engaging in secretive or suspicious activity

C. Also look for Psychological changes like 1. Sudden mood swings, or angry outburst also look for 2. Lack of motivation, and appears lost in appearance

Transition: Now that you know some of the warning signs.

II. What are the effect of a drug addiction
A. The physical effect of appearance are but not limited to : Gum disease as well as skin will become red with larger pores around the nose area Your body will become dependent on drugs and will not be able to function normally with out them.

B. Some of the effects of social drug addiction are but not limited to 1. Problems keeping a human
