Social rituals, especially the custom of formal visiting, dictated the use of each of these dresses, or gowns, as the fancier garments were called. Women also wore suits, with shirtwaists (blouses), and had sporting clothes for their more active pursuits like skating, cycling, and tennis. The suits were coordinated jackets and long skirts, and were made by ladies’ tailors rather than by dressmakers. Shops like A. & L. Tirocchi often made the blouses or waists, as they were known in…

First, students who volunteer to help create the t-shirts will make them say “Black Lives Matter at IU” printed largely on the front. The t-shirts will be red to represent Indiana University. The font will be bold and white with a black outlining to make the words stand out to show its importance. The t-shirts will also say “Ask me why” on the back of the t-shirts in the same font but the word “why” will be more bigger than the other words. That phrase will attract people who see their t-shirt and start a “discussion” as mentioned above. The students will then explain and more people will know about the Black Lives Matter movement and spread awareness by also getting a t-shirt. However, to be able to get these t-shirts IU students will set up a board with a brief explanation of what the Black Lives Matter movement is all about and the idea of making t-shirts for the students to wear on campus. Along with that board can be two students sitting at a table by the board to answer any questions. The two students at the table will already have their own t-shirts made to give others an idea of what they would look like. The students can be anyone who volunteers to sit at the table and can choose either in the morning or afternoon. There…

This is becoming a problem in our society where people think that being informal and unprofessional will get you far. When in reality, you will only make it so far and then you need to act and look professional. People will give you more respect and listen to you just by dressing and acting more professional. It gives you a sense of knowledge and authority just to your look and people respect that. For an example, if you are the manager of a bank and you show up to work wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Do you think the other employees under you will think highly of you? Or give you the authority you deserve? Probably not. This goes for just about every higher job position and for as little as dressing up nice, it’s a easy start to being more…
