Dfw Observation

I'm working as a volunteer in a hospice agency. Instead of making money, their goal is to provide the best hospice service in DFW area. Now they are trying to expand their business to different cities in DFW area. They are trying to make sure the cities they choose have good medical support system. They are not choosing only according to the cities with most patients. Thus, I think they understand their goal well.

I'm not sure what tools they are using to measure their business activities. However, according to my observation, I think they have three basic measurements, which are patients' satisfaction, available nurses and operational expenses. Checking patients' satisfaction is their way to measure throughput. Keeping available nurses at certain amount is to control the inventory. Controlling operational cost is to lower the organization cost. By applying these three measurements, the agency should be on right track to its
