Specific Purpose: At the end of my speech, my audience will be able to assemble their own coffee maker.
Introduction
Open with impact: we all need that extra boost to start our morning just right. Whether its going out for a run or just sitting in bed mentally preparing ourselves to conquer the day at work, school, etc. But, if you’re like the majority of people, we need caffeinecoffee to specific. Coffee does wonders! It’s like magic! I’m sure half of us know at least someone whom you cant talk to before they’ve had coffee. Good will/ credibility: I’ve been drinking coffee for years, and I recently made this coffee contraption, and it works perfectly fine! And, yes I know that not everyone likes coffee, but it can make a great gift for a loved one or a fun experiment to pass the time way.
Preview: Today, I will inform you about the items we’ll be utilizing, then guide you through the assembling process, and lastly, I’ll mention some pros and cons.
Body
I. First, and foremost, lets discuss what you need.
A. Cups will be a crucial part for this creation
1. You will need two cups; one of the cups will need to be a disposable cup. (Plastic, paper or styrofone) Any will work!
2. For the second cup, any will do! But, for ____ purposes, a mug will be preferable.
3. You will be doing some cutting, so scissors will be a must. And, if by any chance you don’t have any near by, a pen or blade will do the trick!
B. Now, lets talk about the items going on top of the disposable cup.

A piece of cloth (such as a shirt) can be used. Or napkins or a sock!
2. A rubber band will be used to wrap around the filter.
i. For the ladies in the audience, a hair tie will do the trick!
C. And, of course, coffee grains and hot water.
1. Coffee gains can be purchased at your local grocery store. It’s cheap: $5 for a 30 oz. bag.
2. Hot water can be obtained by microwaving it!
Transition: Now that we’ve covered all the necessary items that we’ll be utilizing, lets move on to the constriction process!
II. Having an opening for the filter is very important.
A. First, we want to puncture a hole into the bottom of the disposable cup.
1. Grab the scissors and puncture stab a small hole into the bottom, then once you’ve established the hole
2. Begin to cut in a circular motion until the bottom is fully off.
B. The positioning of the cups is essential.
1. Place the disposable cup up side down.
i. This will insure the cup is safely secure and not wobbly.
2. Place the filter( which ever fabric or napkin you chose) over the opening of the cup.
i. Lock it into place with one of your hand, and with the other, have the rubber band.
3. Place the rubber band around the fabric; Make sure it is
