Without tradition, there is no culture and vice-versa. These words bring us the meanings for our life and make us who we are. Just taking into account some American holidays, for example Memorial Day symbolizes remembering our fallen soldiers; Labor Day’s role in recognizing the achievements of organized labor; and Veterans Day honors military service who served for our country. There has been a shift. Now, these holidays have a new moderate meaning. Memorial Day symbolizes the unofficial beginning of summer; Labor Day just marks the end of summer and a return to school; and Veterans Day is honored as a day off from work.
