When it comes to relationships, having multiple relationships with a client can be disadvantage to client’s welfare and the quality of help provided by the therapist. There are various reasons to how this can happen when there is already an existing relationship in therapy between the client and the therapist. Dual relationships might occur when the therapist and the client know a mutual person which can cause both to know of each other. In some cases after the therapy ends the client and the therapist could become friends and may have an intimate relationship. These relationships can develop for various reasons while the client is still in therapy or they are already done. According to the AAMFT code of ethics; “Marriage and family therapist are aware of their influential positon with respect to clients, and they avoid exploiting the trust and dependency of such person” (AAMFT, Code of Ethics 1.3). A couple of days ago, I was watching a movie where an English teacher asks her students to discuss ‘what is love’. Majority of the class did not know how to respond. At first, I found this odd considering that love is a universally understood emotion that can be felt by most human beings. We express the emotion on a daily basis, whether it be towards our family, friends, or significant others. However, upon some introspection, I realized that it is difficult to come up with a solid definition for it because of its subjective nature. Love exists in many different forms and holds different meanings for different people.…

Love has different meanings to different people. True love is not based on how good looking a person is. I think true love should be about how much you care about a person and how much you guys have in common. For example in the article “ Is There Live at First Sight” author Elliot Cohen stated that love should have common ground. “ Is he articulate? Does the tone of his voice resonate well with you? Are her morals , as expressed ,consistent with your own”(Cohen5). True love should have trust and commitment. True love is when you meet someone and say this is the person that I want to be with in my life. It’s not when you see someone and think they are good looking and want to be with them. Love should be when you love someone because of their personality and what kind of person they are.…

“What is love? Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me, no more.”(by Haddaway) This is one of the most known song choruses that ask the question, “What is love?” When people think of love, they think of having a nervous feeling because they are attracted to a specific person. My definition of love is, A chemical reaction in the brain that causes a person’s hormones to react because they want to mate. A person likes another person, because humans are still considered animals/mammals and want to pass on genes. This is my definition of love, but the dictionary definition is, “ A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep personal affection.” Three main examples are romantic love, family love and friendly love.…
