Deception In Idio's Second, Jealousy
Second, jealousy and anger are the characters motives for deception. The anger Don John has toward Claudio regarding the war is the second motive for his deception. Prior to learning who was getting married ,Don John states “Will it serve for any model to build mischief on?”.Upon learning that Claudio was in love with Hero, Don John becomes enraged and devises a plan to stop the marriage immediately. Summarizing himself as a “plain dealing villain”, Don John acknowledges that what he has devised is wrong, but is embracing his anger and behaves in the way that his “blood” causes him to. The moment he discovers that Claudio is happy and in love with he couldn’t stand the thought to let Claudio win again. Don John’s sole purpose for destroying
