Debut Albums and Simple Chinese Proverb
Why do we rush through our lives, as if we were in a hurry to get somewhere? Take me anywhere, just not to here! Why so? Sure, I am the first to admit that goals are important in life, but if we don’t take time to look around and enjoy the journey our goals will loose their effect; they are to make us happy now. Today. That is why I like this simple Chinese proverb:
“The Journey is the Reward”
If we enjoy our journey our lives gain meaning. It’s as simple as that. Let’s not think that the only important thing is that celestial glory which awaits us some time faaaaar in the future. Seeing how wonderful this life is, here and now, lets us experience the sparking of that celestial flame in a hearts already today.
I love what Shonda Rhimeshas to say about happiness because I think sometimes we can get so caught up in self improvement, paying the bills, raising “perfect” children, getting the next promotion, or living for some moment in the future that we forget to enjoy this moment, right here and right now.
“It’s hard to be happy when you’re starting at some point on the horizon instead of looking at where you are right now…I have so much I want in life. But what if I decided that what I have is enough? That we are enough?”
“And therein lies the happy. Remembering and believing that I am enough. That all of the self-improvements I have on my list don’t mean that the self I am now is not ok.”
“Happiness. My happiness, is right here. In this moment. Right now. I am standing knee deep in my happy. I just need to look around to see

In planning her Happiness Project, Rubin turned to the wisdom of the ages, scientific knowledge, and lessons from pop culture all aimed at creating happiness. She uses this book to set down her adventures and discoveries along the way. She learned a number of things, including that novelty and challenge are important sources of happiness, that while perhaps money can’t completely buy happiness it can help in its purchase when it is spent with fore thought, that ordering and organizing her external environment contributed to a sense of inner peace, that treating herself could make her feel worse, that venting negative emotions didn’t get rid of them, and that sometimes it was the smallest of changes that could make the largest differences in her world and her happiness.…

The purpose of the journey of life is the journey itself - not to get somewhere. We already are somewhere, exactly where we need to be and to go forward from. It’s not about the destination/ending point, but about destiny, which is an eternal going forward that is already here, all along the way. It is our manifest destiny to live and learn and grow throughout eternity. Life is often described as a journey of discovery and growth, and the function of the journey is to learn through experiences. The goal of our journey through life is to learn the lessons that life’s challenges, problems, and adventures offer us. The main idea is not necessarily to get it right (or get it wrong) but simply to get it. Each character experienced some type of journey. Whether it was a grandma determined to get medicine for her…

“Actual happiness always looks pretty squalid in comparison with the over-compensations for misery. And, of course, stability isn 't nearly so spectacular as instability. And being contented has none of the glamour of a good fight against misfortune, none of the picturesqueness of a struggle with temptation, or a fatal overthrow by passion or doubt. Happiness is never grand." Humans need more than just happiness to be happy. Freedom was seen as a useless idea in We, humans are volatile and irrational, and confusing, all things that make life a difficult place to be in at times. However, life isn’t life without all of these things. Happiness is what you make of a life that is unpredictable and full of misfortune. Otherwise, you are living a…
