David (Bubba) Wallace is a professional stock car racer competing in the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). He was born October 8, 1993 in Mobile, Alabama to a family that heavily encouraged him to pursue his racing career. Wallace was a fantastic racer from a young age. His passion for racing was born out of his love for driving go-karts. In pursuit of his passion his parents supported him wholeheartedly, spending upward of one millions dollars and allowing him to miss large amounts of school to pursue his dream. Their investment in their son was not unreturned.

When Wallace was 12 years old, he had already established his dominance among his peers by winning 35 of the 48 races held in the Bandolero Series, an entry level racing league for 8 to 16 year olds. In 2008, he became the youngest winner at the Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, Virginia. Wallace’s performance did not go unrecognized by the administration at NASCAR. Due to his father being active in the US Air Force, the family relocated to the Keesler Air Force Base, which was where his father was stationed. Once they relocated, Chris started learning how to ride horses when they visited his grandparents on their farm in Michigan. When Chris was thirteen, he participated in his first rodeo in Denison, Texas. It was not long after his first rodeo he began winning junior rodeos. As he got older, he continued to compete in many rodeos which became a priority over everything he did. The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is fairly new to the realm of sports. There is a known debate about whether NASCAR is a sport, some people say it is not a sport, but I say it is. The definition of a sport is “An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.”(Webster). In a sport the key factors are the physical capabilities and skills the competitor acquires while determining the outcome, winning or losing.…

Wallace described himself as an entrepreneur that never failed at anything. He credits his ability to constantly win to his attribution of being able to figure things out and fix any problem thrown at him. Wallace explains the people of America as ones that want an easy fix and as people that would rather buy a new machine than fix the one that they have. However he doesn't put all of the blame on the people of America. He describes America as a country that seems to create its own debt because our country creates people that are lazy so to speak. When he was a young boy he was working at the age of eight years old for fifty cents a day. Now there is an age limit for a young person that says when they can or can't work. Wallace says that by the time these young people reach working age they are set in their ways and really don't want to work hard. This is the reason for buying all of the new machines instead of fixing the…

In this essay I am going to do my best to give the reader the most informative explanation (within my constraints) of one of the most brilliant authors of the age, David Foster Wallace. He was the author of many great and insightful (at times, dark) works. Some of the more popular/well-known pieces being _The Broom of the System, Girl with Curious Hair, Infinite Jest, A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, Oblivion_, and finally his incomplete novel, _The Pale King_. In all honesty, to even scratch the surface of an individual with this amount of depth would require a work similar in size and time to his "tree-killer" of a novel, _Infinite Jest_. That being said, I hold the belief that every free-thinking individual should at least know-this man's name in hopes that it may show them the way to his works on what it means to be "a fucking human being".…
