A person who craves power may resort to intimidation, manipulation or downright aggression which is showed in this film. It seemed as though the prisoners and guards thought this is just an experiment. As I was watching this film I asked myself how this could possibly have happened to the mindset of the guards for them to behave this…

Having power means having the ability to influence people’s behavior. Whenever someone thinks of power, they most often think of leaders who are able to impact people and events by simply using words. This kind of power is not something everyone can obtain, and if in the wrong hands it could potentially be dangerous. Likewise, in Lord of the Flies by William Golding, power plays a major role in the fictional novel. Interestingly, most of the power in the story is in a magnificent, white conch shell and an atrocious severed sow’s head. Power also has the strength to manipulate people and their actions. A good example of this in Antigone is when King Creon made a new rule that if anyone were to bury his brother Polynices, they shall be sentenced to death. He used his power in a negative way to make sure the people in his kingdom don't bury his brother. He used his power to create fear in his people by adding a punishment to the people that disobeyed him. This shows that power can be abused in many ways and manipulate people. Even though after…
