DESTEP Analysis In Netherland
Country selection:
MARNAR targeted the Netherlands as its export country. The Netherlands was first selected due to the sufficient geographical location within Europe. The Netherlands is also one of the largest importers of seafood in Europe, raking at the 8th place. Worldwide, the Netherlands had a 13th place in 2015 (Inside the Netherlands - The Fish and Seafood Trade, 2015). Another aspect why the Netherlands was chosen is the economic stability and excellent infrastructure (Holland Ranked Second Worldwide for Economic Stability, 2017).

DESTEP analysis
A DESTEP analysis is applied in order to find out the current situation in the Netherlands. Making a DESTEP analysis is necessary for the examination of the external analysis, since it gives a detailed overview of the different aspects of a country. A DESTEP analysis consists of six steps, namely: the demographic environment, economic trends, social-cultural trends, technological trends, ecological trends and political-legal trends.
Demographic environment

In 2016, the Netherlands even ranked the first place as the country with the best English as a second language. Having good English skills is seen in correlation with better quality of life and a higher income. The Netherlands has always been a country that lives on trade, and being a multilingual country helps them strive this (Wittenborg, 2016). This fact could be an opportunity for MARNAR. Doing business in a country with good English skills makes it easier to build relationships and be successful.     The fact that the Netherlands is part of the European Union and by extension have a joint non-governmental equity with them is pivotal to how policy is implemented and shaped in their society. The focus of this new political party is to ban or make it harder for any Muslim refugees to come to the Netherlands and ban any religious texts such as the Koran from being sold as well. These poses a major problem because one of the major nonprofit sector in Amsterdam’s deal strictly with refugees and garnering support for said refugees.
