International Probe into Sri Lanka War Crimes The United Nations held a meeting about the war crimes in Sri Lanka. The war has been going on for quite some time. Since then, there has been little progress. The United States plans to propose a way to resolve the war crimes. This conflict will not affect in the future. This conflict does not affect my future either. The reason for this is that it is happening in another county, and it is also a civil situation within that country. I feel that a resolution should have been found for this conflict a long time ago. Many innocent civilians have died from the Sri Lanka civil war. I also feel that the United States should not get too involved in foreign situations. The war has gone on for too long.

Companies reveal new health law’s financial impact
Many large companies are spending more money on insurance benefits for full time employees. Insurance companies are spending more money one commercial advertising to attract customers. Media and advertising companies are gaining from insurance companies wanting to turn towards technology to attract more customers. I currently do not have a job. Therefore, I feel that this issue does not impact me today. Maybe some time in the future when I do start working, the health insurance situation will have some impact. In my opinion, it is great that obamacare is having such a huge impact in the world. Health insurance should be mandatory for an employee at a large company or small. Hopefully, more people will apply for health insurance in the future.

After watching Dr. Flowers and seeing the way she perceives Obamacare, I personally have the say that I agree with her. She explained that since Obamacare is always praised, and always in the limelight, there are many drawbacks that must be brought to the forefront. One of the challenges that she brought up in her critique was that Obamacare has done nothing but force people to buy private insurance, create insurance exchanges, as well as spend more money to hire tons of people to knock on doors to sell private insurances. Not only are people forced into buying one of these private insurances, they’re also forced into paying more out of pocket expenses if they are seriously injured and have to go to an “out of network” doctor. It is not a step…

I read an article on Wall Street Journal about the Justice Department investigating the police force in Ferguson, Missouri. They suspect possible misconduct or discrimination against the 18-year-old, Michael Brown, who was shot by one of Ferguson’s Police officer, Darren Wilson. There is still question to whether the officer is charged or not. Ferguson and surrounding areas will be analyzed on their police training and policies. The Ferguson police force welcomes the investigation and analyzing so that they can improve in any way they need to serve the community better. Further investigation in this will help ease the Ferguson community and feel like they can trust their local police force. If there were not any more investigation, this would cause a lot of uneasiness upon the people of Ferguson. They expect thorough investigation to be done so that they know for sure what really happened and if the Ferguson police force is actually discriminating against the minorities in their community or not. The police force may be at fault for approaching situations the wrong way and coming off as discriminating with the community members.…

According to the New York Post, many of the insurance premiums are targeting those individuals who can theoretically afford it. The high premiums also contribute to the high price regulations that has caused the middle class to pay more for health insurance. This implies that individuals who are financially stable are the ones who are suffering from high insurance payments and question the importance of poor lives in the sense that they can no longer pay for their own…

    Pros And Cons Of Obamacare

Before the law you could be denied coverage or treatment because you had been sick in the past, be charged more because you were a woman, be dropped mid-treatment for making a simple mistake on your application, and had little or no way to fight insurance company appeals. Today all Americans have access to a large number of unprecedented new benefits, rights and protections. The major ones outlined by the healthcare reform are there are many of uninsured persons who will get access to affordable quality health insurance through the marketplace, thus 82% of uninsured adults will qualify for free or low cost insurance. Insurance companies are not allowed to dismiss you when you are sick or if you make a mistake on your application. Neither can you be denied coverage or charged more for pre-existing conditions such as being sick. Another benefit is that young adults are able to stay on their parent 's plan until the age of 26. Also there is better care and protections for seniors and “essential health benefits like emergency care, hospitalization, prescription drugs, and maternity and newborn care must be included on all non-grandfathered plans at no out-of-pocket limit” (ObamaCare Facts n.d). Additionally, you cannot be charged more based on health or gender. ObamaCare helps to curb the growth in healthcare spending with reforms to the health industry to cut wasteful spending. Seeing all of these benefits,…

In most cases, as long as the good outweighs the bad, then at the end of the day that is all that really matters. In the large picture, Americans now have the chance at having affordable health care, and cannot be denied over prior history. People can now avoid being put in massive amounts of debt by avoiding the high cost of procedures that they need. No one should ever deny the care they need when it comes to their health. In the long run it may cost companies more money, but if they make money off of their employees, they should be willing to pay for them to remain healthy. Within the next ten years we will truly see if the good outweighs the bad. In my opinion, Obamacare is headed in the right direction, but I do not feel the bill was ready to be passed. With all the opposition to incorporating socialized health care it is understandable why Obama was pushing it through while he is in office, because it may have not went through if it waited much longer. There are also a large number of benefits with the Affordable Health Care Act, people now can purchase affordable health care and not be denied due to pre-existing conditions. I also feel the government should have raised taxes to cover the cost, instead of Americans paying monthly for their insurance. We tend to not miss what is already gone, and this is what other countries have done. People have to pay taxes, so no one would ever…

Healthcare services require compensation so our access to healthcare in the United States is certainly influenced by our economy. This access is very limited for the uninsured because of the extreme high costs of healthcare services and medications. According to the Social Security Advisory Board, health care spending is increasing at a more rapid rate than are earnings for workers and their families (Social Security Advisory Board, 2009). Also, healthcare premiums have increased at a much greater rate than inflation (Divino, 2008). Many Americans are unable to obtain health insurance because it is not provided to them by their employers and/or it is too expensive. Medical bills can easily become overwhelming causing both financial and…

Some impacts are introduced in many interviews of random individuals, too give an idea of what Obama Care really is becoming. Obama Care will impose new compliance regulations, employer mandate taxes, and numerous indirect costs on small, and medium-size companies. For Scott Womack, the owner of a dozen IHOP restaurants in Indiana and Ohio, these are obstacles that will most likely prevent him from expanding his business and hiring new employees. Ann Lorenz a senior citizen relies on Medicare as she copes with serious health care challenges, including Parkinson 's Disease. Ann sees a number of doctors and depends on a variety of prescription drugs and therapies to stay independent. She worries that Obama Care threatens her access to doctors, treatment options and insurance plans. This mainly exemplified that Obama Care does not cover her doctor bills that she needs to pay or she would be at risk of not obtaining her prescriptions, but it is all great there are other doctors that are covered by Obama Care you can change your health care. Obama care will discourage the uninsured from seeking coverage and cause the insured to lose the coverage they currently have. The uninsured also can not afford their bills including those who are in poverty, they will be fined if they can not afford their monthly low cost bill. Its amazing that the government forces you to obtain a health insurance but if you can not afford it you will be…

A few years ago, there was an announcement about a new health insurance in the United States, which is called Obamacare. President Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law on March 20, 2010. Obamacare is a nickname for the set of health care reform rules found in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Obamacare has indeed reduced the number of Americans without insurance. This insurance has two big declared goals to reduce the number of Americans who lack health insurance and to cut health spending that doesn't give good value for money, because it makes health care services affordable and accessible to almost everyone. According to the US government, Obamacare “helps to increase the number of primary care physicians, nurses, physician assistants and other health care professionals." As with the health care industry as a whole, for many years market forces had little or no impact on the health care workforce. That is, the supply side often dominated, controlling the numbers and types of workers that were available (Shi & Singh,…

Also, the government website Healthcare.gov was inundated with technical problems after its initiation on October 1, 2013.The mandated insurance from companies was deferred until 2015. Then, Obama announced that insurance companies were allowed to keep customers on their existing plans without changes. Many were angered at Obama’s ‘broken promise’. Then, companies began paying for their employees health insurance by cutting down their workforce (under the 50 limit), leaving many without jobs, and therefore, having no means to pay for insurance. Congress budgets in 2014 predicted that Obamacare would cut the US workforce by around 2.3 million workers by 2021 (Budgetary and Economic Effects of Repealing the Affordable Care Act, 2015). Obamacare has also been considered an intrusion into private lives, which launched a legal challenge. This effort was blocked when the Supreme Court declared the law constitutional. The controlling Republicans in the House of Representatives have also been working to have the law repealed. Obamacare has been criticized for being overly-complicated with its many types of insurance policies – bronze, silver, gold and platinum, plus, the co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance…
