The results highlighted the positive improvements from pre-training to post-training for both groups in all the dependent variables. When it came to comparing the gain scores between each group, there was no significant difference between the hang snatch and hang clean. The analysis investigates the outcomes of two movement variations of weightlifting dealing with power, strength, and speed. The results proved the hypothesis that both hang cleans and hang snatches had equal effectiveness in improving vertical jump, 1RM back squat, and 40-yeard sprint. Also with expert opinion and biomechanical observations, the results state that both lifts performed over a short term with the same relative loads, offer similar potential for significant improvements in strength, speed and power in female collegiate…

In order to bring about any type of results and to challenge your body to keep the exercises from becoming boring you find yourself increasing the intensity of the exercise program. When you begin a CrossFit exercise routine this will not happen because the exercises will not allow the body to get into a routine and start slacking off. With CrossFit exercising it does not focus on one particular type of exercise but instead it focuses on a combination of different exercises. In a CrossFit exercise routine your exercises may include sit-ups, push-ups, box squats, squats, handstand push-ups, running, rope climb, rowing, bench press, and so many…

“We’re on the paleo diet,” two of my former male co-workers said back in 2013 as they were sitting down to eat on our lunch break. Four massively poached eggs wiggled on each of their plates along with two sides stacked with bacon. I remember staring at them with a look of concern, and a bit of disgust since I cannot stomach eggs myself. When I asked what the heck a paleo diet was, one of them laughed like I had asked what 2 + 2 equaled.…

The African American population contributes to over twelve percent of the entire United States population (U.S. Census Bureau, 2007). Within this population stems poverty, lower socioeconomic status and health issues (Edelman & Mandle, 2002). The health issues among African Americans have become an ongoing debate. There is an increase in blood supply as your body is working overtime. The blood supply has to increase because it has to go to the parts in your body which you are exercising the most e.g. If you are taking a run, the blood supply will increase because your legs will need more energy, therefore there will be more blood circulating your legs than normal because you are overworking them. Your muscles and all your body organs need more energy and oxygen; this is because your body is working more than usual. Your body needs to do many things such as sweat, which helps you cool down, and to get energy to all of your cells in your body to help you carry on exercising, if your body didn't do this, you wouldn't be able to carry on exercising. During acute exercise your muscle pliability increases which allows a greater range of movement which helps reduce injury. Acute exercise will cause muscle fibre micro tears. This is generally known as micro-trauma. The myosin heads and the actin filaments will be pulled from the myofibrils. This damage will cause a release of chemicals that cause the soreness after your period of exercise. The chemicals released also stimulate repair and growth in the area to rebuild the tears in the muscle.…
