Creative Writing: First Time Drinker
I know we barely know each other but I need you to do me a favor at the party with Zee. Please watch after her for me. She's not a drinker and I can't stop her from drinking, but I don't want her to push her limits as a first time drinker. I've already told her this but she also doesn't like to listen to what I tell her. Her dad asked me to watch over her but I'm not going to be there so I'm asking you as one of her closest friends to please just look out for her. Thank you and sorry if this is kind of

Her safety is a very important factor, she has put herself in danger when drinking under the influence but it seemed as if she has not done that in awhile but not too sure if she was telling the truth. Now her drinking intake is a decent amount just within a week, it would be great for next week for me to maybe have some pamphlets ready about health issues when you do a lot of heavy drinking. Her activities and times she spends with her friends is a little concerning to me, she should try to put herself in better environments, not a bar where alcohol is everywhere. I suggested new hobbies and activities such as bowling where it is more of a family oriented place and everyone is focused on the game and not the…

explain everything to you in a minute.” said Captain Skillman. As they sat there quiet. Deputy Blake held his head down. “Are you okay?” ask Captain Skillman. “Yes I’m fine, I’m just a little tired.” said Deputy Blake. “Well, we won’t be long.” said Captain Skillman. As they sat there, three men walked in, Lieutenant Crimp, Lieutenant Nectar and Sergeant Prim. Captain Skillman stood up and shook their hands. “Now we can start.” said Captain Skillman. Then six special agents walked in. “What’s going on?” ask Deputy Corde. “Gentlemen, these are FBI agents and you five have been pretty busy, we’ve had you all under surveillance and you all have been participating in illegal activities.” said Captain Skillman. “HOLD ON, WHAT IS ALL THIS?” yelled…

Imagine your life flashing before you. What you had yesterday, you might not have today. Your loved ones you had a conversation with and were able to see days ago, might have been the last time you might ever talk to them and see them. All of this happens within minutes and without any warning. Put yourself in the position of someone who has to question if they will be able to see the sun rise the next morning; like myself.…

Alcohol on American campuses has become a serious issue. In 2001, the total number of alcohol related deaths on college campuses was over 1700, while in 1998 the total was just less than 1600, and the number of students who reported that they had driven while intoxicated rose from 2.3 million to 2.8 million (Hingson 260). This statistic includes all college students, ages 18-24. That means some of the people involved in these incidents were underage. 1 out of every 4 students drinks at a binge level (Simons 24). This reflects the direction that the youth of America, as a whole, has taken. Part of the reason for this is that many college students do not know about the harmful effects of alcohol. They just don't know all the facts. Binge drinking has many harmful effects, both long term and short term, that all college students should know.…

Bright, blood red colours saturated the makeshift tent, signalling the arrival of a new year. Red papers rustled in the breeze. Inscribed on them were golden characters each indicating happiness, health and prosperity. Red flowers bloomed in their various places around the tent. Bodies piled in ecstatically, one after another, sniffing, as they entered, the heavenly aroma of the vast array of foods present. Greetings were exchanged. So was money, which remained silent in the red packets they were initially placed in.…

Anyway, things were planned so well as far as my daughter was concerned but I was not happy with the plans and she was to be home at her curfew on the weekend, midnight. Not happy at all, she did come home just after midnight. No she did not understand why and she just wanted to have fun with her friends. I DO understand but all the following questions popped up. First how can there be drugs and alcohol at each and every party we hear about in this day of age? Where are the police? What are parents thinking to allow kids especially underage to drink at home? How can drinking at home be just okay? Do you realize kids are at school everyday stoned/high and even become stoned or high at school? Scary but true.…

The daily scream therapy of my neighbour in the shower does not fail to act as an alarm clock every morning. This daily “alarm clock” was a good enough reason to not succumb into the pressure of calling the police. The rhythmic sound of everyone’s steps outside gave birth to the gravel, small as peas which moved beneath their feet and from it a faint dust rose, the perfume of the town. This perfume I had to get used to now, this perfume I will smell for the years to come. This foreign town was now my new home, away from all the sadness, unfulfilled relationships and the past, a town full of versatile people, some doctors, some painters, some chocolatiers and some farmers, all with big houses towering over them. A town still rich with bicycles and kids playing in the streets early in the morning, the streets filled with the aroma of bread this all felt very new to me, I was a city dweller, this made me feel great unease.…

But before you start writing, you need to get organized. You need to put all those wonderful ideas down on paper in a form you can use. Why? Because your memory is fallible, and your creativity has probably left a lot of holes in your story -- holes you need to fill in before you start writing your novel. You need a design document. And you need to produce it using a process that doesn't kill your desire to actually write the story. Here is my ten-step process for writing a design document. I use this process for writing my novels, and I hope it will help you.…

Ever since I was young, writing has never been my strong point. I never divulged into the writing process as much as I have completed for this particular course called writing 101. The reason being, English was never my first spoken or written language. I am comfortable with speaking the English language however writing correctly and adhering to the writing process has always been a challenge for me. For once, I never had a clear idea of structuring an essay to reach a valid point. Without structural organization, all the essays I have written so far lacked the impact that good, strong essays usually show. However within this course period, I have obtained many skills that divulges into writing a good, strong essay or any writing pieces for that matter. I began this course with very basic writing skills; now I have acquired intermediate learning skills through using pre-writing, good grammar knowledge and transition words.…
