creating a sentence
To create a sentence which incorporates a Parallel structure, several relevant ideas can be joined together with commas and conjunctions. Using “and”, and “or” for instance is a way to present a parallel sentence structure. The use of sentences with parallel sentence structure is allows a writer to show the value of information. One example of this would be; The president traveled to Alaska where he skied, talked, and relaxed. The sentence structure in the example includes parallel words such as skied, talked, and relaxed. When making these parallel structured sentences it is smart not to combine words which do not sound alike or do not flow orally. This means that the words used for a parallel structure should be in as much of a similar form as possible.Note how my structure included words of the same form ending in ed. This is appropriate to show the past tense of actions, and to make the sentence flow off the tongue. I have applied for a position as a Medical Transcriptionist at Arrowhead Hospital to get back into the medical field. When I graduated from High School, I decided that I wanted to be a Medical Assistant. At that time, I was employed by a company that was in the business of building houses. Once I graduated with my Associates Degree in Medical Assisting, I decided that I wanted to take my medical career further and continued my education with a course in Surgical Technology. Upon completion of my course work in the Surgical Technology program I was required to complete an externship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital within the pediatric neurosurgery department. This was an extremely challenging task as emotionally, I was not ready to deal with the emotional impact of helping babies that were so ill and sometimes terminal. I completed my externship and graduated from the program and at that time, I decided to continue my employment in the homebuilding business. In 2005, the real estate market started to take a turn for the worse and my position in homebuilding was eliminated. Shortly after this, I started a family and made the choice to stay at home with my children while they were young. I am now ready to re-enter the workforce and my past experience in the medical field complements the training that I have received as a Medical Transcriptionist.…

The toddler climbed laboriously up onto the stool, determined to “help” her mother. But her mother did not notice; she was far too busy with the frantic preparations for the birthday party. Ten three-year-olds and their mothers coming for an afternoon of treats, games and face painting: a herald of another party, ten years from now, when make up would be the order of the day, the child’s father had observed. As the mixer whirred and the dishwasher swished and the oven beeped its warning of impending culinary disaster, the child’s attempt to be a part of the busy-ness was more than her mother could attend to. She did not notice when the girl reached the top of the stool, nor did she see the tiny hand reach out toward…

I am applying for the medical billing position that is being offered here in Dr. Burn’s office. I have some knowledge of Medical Billing because I had worked for a clinic locally in the past. I was faced with a challenge ten months ago when the construction company I had been managing was sold which resulted in major cuts. When I was faced with the challenge of looking for a job I remembered through my experience at the clinic listening to the volunteer doctors who would come in regularly with the same complaint, “The biller just quit again!” That reflection helped me to discover that this would be the direction I would go in. I taught myself the system they were using, which was extremely intense. My one attribute with regard to succeeding is that I have a burning desire to do my best at anything I take on.…

I want to be a Medical Administrative Assistant at Vanderbilt hospital to honor my late sister and my parents. When I was 18 years old my sister Debbie died from cancer. The majority of my childhood and teenage years were spent in hospitals and the majority of my parent's money went to paying the doctors. During this period of my life I thought medicine was doing more harm than good. Because I was older at the time of Debbie's death my perception about medicine changed and I became motivated to find out why medicine costs so much and why some procedures cost more than others? So I studied hard, became Valedictorian of my class, earning a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University and now I'm ready to become a member of the Vanderbilt hospital community. It would be a great honor to secure one of the three Medical Administrative Assistants positions.…

I provided sentence combining by using coordinating conjunctions and conjunctive adverbs. For example, when I wrote the sentence “The small town itself did not bother me; nevertheless, what had brought us there did bother me.” I combined the sentence using the word nevertheless. Another example sentence is “Everyone who knew her had nothing but kind words to say about her; however, she was far from perfect.” The use of the word however combines the sentence. I provided examples to illustrate my claims by describing in detail when I talked about my stepmom on how I saw her at first when she grounded me from television and when she sent me to bed without any dessert. Then how she stepped up as a mother by taking care of me when I was sick and by giving advice when I needed it. Giving examples help the reader to understand more about what you are writing and also helps paint a better picture for the reader to…

Most sentences in English begin with the subject, move to the verb, and continue to an object, with modifiers tucked in along the way or put at the end. For the most part, these sentences are fine. Put too many of them in a row, however, and they become monotonous. Adverbial modifiers, being easily movable, can often be inserted at the beginning of the sentence, ahead of the subject. Such modifiers might be single words, phrases, or clauses.…

A plot needs a motivating structure to drive the story’s conflict to its decision. There are four types of plot structure; the progressive plot, the episodic plot, the parallel plot and the flashback. Each of these chronological structures establishes the comprehension of the conflict of its story on its own way. In this short story, the plot is structured in a certain chronological way named flashback. This narrative structure leads the reader from the first story into another one within its overall story. In ‘The boat’ by MacLeod, we realize that the author started the story by the present life of a university professor, the narrator, and incorporates the professor’s past life in the overall story to make us comprehend the logical emotion itself. “[...] when I am half out of bed and fumbling for socks and mumbling for words before I realize that I am foolishly alone”, by knowing the actual situation the narrator is going through, we notice that he isn’t having a joyful life and that he looks back on his life, recalling his childhood. In this quotation, we can see that the narrator gets his first recollection of his past: “I first became conscious of the boat in the same way and at almost the same time that I became aware of the people it supported [...].” When the narrator dives in to his childhood, we tend to understand that it’s to fill in the story in a chronological way. The author chooses to start the story where it needs to be started, not at the very beginning, but in the middle of things.…
