Courage and Morale Leaders...
An example of a world leader who shows high courage and moral leadership is the U.S. President, Barak Obama. This is because he shows great leadership qualities such as confidence, charisma, integrity, loyalty and tact. In Chapter 6, Daft (2010), discusses characteristics associated with Courage and Moral Leadership to be tact, enthusiasm, courage, integrity and courage. President Obama’s characteristics can be attributed to the fact that he had a great Pastor and spiritual mentor. According to Crossman (2010), sometimes spiritual leadership is crucial in secular organizations and it helps in transformational, servant, and environmental leadership. The characteristics have made him a moral leader over the years that he was a Senator, and then when he became the President of the United States. In order to show great leadership, people need to create a sense of mutual trust between them and their followers. They should, therefore, always show ethical behaviors during their everyday running of leadership activities, as well as personal lives. Behaviors that show honesty and loyalty would influence followers to act morally and with high standards. Moral leadership puts emphasis on a type of leadership whereby leaders use what is right to guide their followers. Ethical leadership is very crucial for the leader, especially because he promised to bring positive change in terms of rights to the U.S. when he ran for presidency. It would be morally wrong if he went against his promises, and this would lead to loss of trust and support by his followers.
Public leaders face a lot of expectations from their followers, and even opponents. Therefore, they cannot make promises to be perfect because every human being is bound to fail one time or the other. President Obama has failed from time to time and has tried to rectify the situation so as to regain the trust and support of his followers. For example, when President Obama took up leadership the first time, he promised the
