Cookie: A Narrative Fiction
“HELP! HE-” I start yelling but get cut of when a hand goes over my mouth, “Be quiet will you!” My captor yelled sounding worried.
Without thinking I stick my tongue out. “Gross” He yelled before letting go. I grinned in victory, before opening my mouth to start.
“Try something like that again and you will regret it” His tone now harsh and scary, causing me to be quiet. His hands returned to my sides as he guided me forward. “Don't touch me” I grumbled. “Is that up to you now?” He asked. I huffed in annoyance and I heard him chuckle. Then he stepped away from me and put his hand on my back and we started walking ahead. After twenty-nine and a half steps, yeah I counted, we came to a stop and I heard my kidnapper shuffling around before I heard

I found myself leaning in, just when his lips were about to touch mine when we were interrupted, “Will someone make me a sandwich!” Dustin yells. “Yeah just give me a minute!” My kidnapper yells back, “Why don't you put i a movie and I will make a sandwich and I'm get Dustin” He tells me. “Ok” I respond.
Two hours later we are sitting on the couch watching the credits on the screen after the movie is over and Dustin has fell asleep so the kidnapper takes him to bed and then we decide to watch another movie I remember something, “Wait! You still haven't told me your name” I tell him. “Maybe I'll tell you after the movie” He said smirking. “Maybe?” I ask “Ssshhh, the movie is starting” He tells me waving his hand in front of my face, I sit back pouting like a child. After a while of watching the movie we start to fall asleep and before the movie ends I end up falling asleep with my head on my kidnapper’s shoulder.
The next morning I wake up to the sound of the doorbell I also notice that me and the kidnapper fell asleep on the couch with my head on his shoulder and His head on mine. I hear the doorbell ring again and it wakes up my kidnapper so he goes to answer it and I follow him. When he opens the door I see a boy that looks a lot like my kidnapper but taller and older and he has luggage. “Hey Max” The kidnapper says. “Hey little brother” John replies as they

Before I can answer my kidnapper answers for me, “This is Grace my girlfriend” He says giving me a look, obviously his brother doesn't know about the kidnapping or anything else.
“Hi its nice to meet you” Max says holding his hand out to me and I shake it saying, “You too.”
“So are you ready for Christmas?” Max asks me, wait did he just say Christmas ,no, no, no, I had special plans with Josh and Jennifer.
“Wait how many days till Christmas” I ask
“Um, tomorrow is Christmas eve” He responds, oh no i won't spend Christmas with my friends. “I have to go home to my friends” I tell my kidnapper.
“No your not aloud to leave” He says sadly. “Why?” I ask angrily
“Because, you just can't” He says annoyed. “Fine, whatever, but I will get out of here” I tell him, but a part of me wants to stay with him. The next few hours I don't talk to my kidnapper and, for some reason, it hurts not to and I still don't know his name. I talked to Max and found out he was out of college for Christmas and he will

Later, just a couple of minutes before Prep, I sat by the phone rooms, nauseous about how I would break the world-shattering news to Sophie. Ah, my beloved Sophie, we dated last year until she saw Matt Shauman. But I would have won her back with these tickets. Maybe I can say that I was suspended and Max will get them for her, so as not to break her fragile heart. So, plucking up my last piece of courage, I entered a phone cubicle and dialled her boarding house’s number. Brrrr, Brrrr, with numb fingers, they shook like an earthquake, so wedging the phone between my shoulder and ear, my breathing…

“Ugh!”, he grunts from how large the suitcase is. “Will you be able to carry that, Scottie?” she says, her face, worn from time, twists with concern for her son. “Of course”, he laughs. “Okay, if you’re sure.” She says as she opens the metal gate to the front yard. They slowly walk through the cracked pathway until they reach the steps to the porch. Beatrice opens the sturdy door with her keys. “Honey, I’m home!” Scottie yells into the empty living room. “Must you do that every time you come inside the house?” She says fondly. “Of course, I must.” He says as if she should already have known the answer. While they were talking, Alice and Jake, Scottie’s younger siblings, heard his announcement and excitedly ran out of their room and down the beige stairs. “Stop making all that racket!” she admonishes her children. “SCOTTIE!” they yell out enthusiastically. “You’re home!” Alice states, full of wonder that her big older brother is finally back where he belongs. “Well, it’s obvious that I’m home unless I’m an imposer who’s secretly an alien”, He jokes, winking at Alice. “I definitely didn’t miss your humor,” Jake lightheartedly says. “Oh, come on, I tell the best jokes”, Scottie says smiling. “Yeah right, in your dreams”, Jake jokingly teases. “Leave your brother alone for right now. He had a long trip and he’s probably exhausted.” Beatrice gently tells to her…

My heavy eyes ached as I closed them listening to music. I was nearly asleep when the song I was listening to paused and my familiar message tone sounded through my headphones. I picked up my phone just as the song faded back in, my eyes blurred as they adjusted to the light of my phone screen but the only thing I could see was Josie’s name. I sat up in shock and re-read the sender name a few times before believing it. I opened the message and started reading. ‘I’ve missed you so much Jacob, this is so hard and everything I do reminds me of you, I really want to see you again.’ I stared at it for a moment in shock before a huge wave of emotion came over me. I kept reading it over and over thinking I must be in a dream. I didn’t know what to do or say. My mind was soon crowded with thoughts and suddenly I felt wide awake. Every day that passed I thought how I wished I was good enough to be with her, because in reality I wasn’t over Josie and I really missed what we had. When I did reply I wrote ‘I need you in my life Josie, I can’t bear not having you next to me anymore, I miss your company and want to see you’ I pressed send and anxiously waited for a reply. I heard another buzz so I picked up my phone. ‘Meet me at Subway at 12’ she said.…

It was a cold stormy night. The house was still. I was lying in bed when I heard a series of knocks at the door. As I descended the stairs the knocks were getting louder and louder. I thought to myself, "Who could be at the door this late at night?" When I opened the door there was a tall man dressed all in black. He smelled of fish and looked like he just walked out of a mud pit. He was having car troubles and needed to use the phone. I invited him in and told him that the phone was down the hall in the living room. Instead of calling the tow truck he called his friend, George, to come pick him up. I invited him to have a cup of coffee and some cookies while he waited for his friend to pick him up. We talked for about an hour when there was another knock at the door.…

“Your mom and I have been thinking, and, uh. We have decided that we want you to go on a little adeventure, okay?” He was talking to me as if I was a little child, as if I did not understand the meaning of his words. “We have the money and we are going to pay a very decent man. He is willing to help us. The plan is to smuggle you all the way to Europe, and then you are going to stay in one of those safe countries”. He smiled in a way that was trying to convince me. I cried out. “What about you? Am I just supposed to leave you here, leave my home and all of my friends? I cannot do that, I don’t want…

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one…If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!.” Chocolate chip cookies rank third most popular dessert in the USA. In order to enjoy the classic dessert, the baker will need both chocolate chips and cookie dough. Without chocolate chips, I would refer to the dessert as a simple cookie instead of a chocolate chip cookie; in the same way, without the cookie dough, I cannot refer to the chocolate chips as a chocolate chip cookie. Oddly enough, true friendships relate to chocolate chip cookies. Similar to how the chocolate chips and the cookie dough depend on each other to make a classic dessert, people count on each other as well. A close…
