Consequences Of The Iraq War
One of the main reasons the aftermath of declaring war on Iran overrides the advantages is that, similarly to the war with Iraq, a countless amount of Iranians will die. Around 500,000 Iraqis died between 2003-2013 due to war related causes and the mortalities will be higher in Iran (The Staggering Cost of the Iraq War, 2013). Iran is three times more populous and three times bigger than Iraq. Dropping the negotiations with Iran and bombing their nuclear enrichment sites is estimated to result in three-hundred thousand to one million deaths of Iranian civilians. The previous war with Iraq proved that going to war was a mistake, and the United States should review the consequences of past events previous to declaring war on another country.
