Conley Honesty Inventory Assessment
My areas of strength from the Conley Readiness Index assessment are precision and accuracy, research, and my attitude towards learning content. Precision and accuracy make me a better student, as they allow me to assure that the work I am submitting is formatted correctly, error free, and is upholding high standards. I consider this to be extremely important to my success in school, as I pay attention to details that matter to professors. My researching ability allows me to collect data from many reliable sources online and at the school’s library. This allows me to make sure what I write about consistently has accurate information present to back up my claims. My attitude towards learning allows me to learn as much as I can and get help when

In the essay “The Ways We Lie,” by Stephanie Ericsson, Ericsson states the various methods of lying that we use, whether they are used with purpose, or used out of impulse. Ericsson talks about 9 different ways of lying: The white lie, facades, ignoring the plain facts, deflecting omission, stereotypes and cliches, groupthink, out-and-out lies, and delusion. After Ericsson states a lie she uses a crafty quote that gives an example on how the lie is portrayed, for example, for the white lie, the first lie she explains in her essay, She uses a quote by Bergen Evans,” a man who won’t lie to a woman has very little consideration for her feelings.” Ericsson uses the quotes and proceeds to inform you about how the lie is used, the plain fact of the…

Since I did the Conley Readiness Index assessment I've thought a lot about all my strength and my weaknesses, and I've been also analyzing what can I do to improve all my weaknesses. One of my strength areas is the ownership of learning and according to this strength, I'm really good at setting goals. Another area of strength that I have is precision/accuracy and according to this area I am a perfectionist person and it's true especially when it comes to reviewing and correcting my assignments before submitting it. According to my results, the other area of strength that I have is Attitude towards learning content, and personally, I agree with this one because one characteristic of this strength is that we like to challenge ourselves to maximize…

My results from the Peak Performance Self-Assessment Test show I have several opportunities for growth (Bethel University, 2013). One of the lowest scoring skills was money management. Money management is something I have struggled with for the last 10 years. However, I made a new year’s resolution that I would learn how to budget my money. I have not perfected a budgeting system but I will continue to work on this issue. Another low scoring skill was confidence. In the past, I have failed college English twice. Consequently, failing those classes have made me less confident in my writing ability. To conquer this fear I plan to refresh my basic writing skills and dedicate more time to school and research. I also believe that the critical criticism…

To lie means to make an untrue statement with the intent to deceive, according to the Webster’s dictionary. It also means to simply create a false or misleading statement on purpose. There are also many synonyms to the word “lie,” such as: prevaricate, equivocate, palter, and fib. The word lie happens to be the most blunt of this group. “Prevaricate” softens the bluntness of a lie by implying quibbling or confusing the issue. This form of lying is common in courtroomms and press conferences by lawyers and politicians. “Equivocate” implies using words having more than one sense in an attempt to say one thing but to mean another. This is an attempt to mislead one without feeling as if one has lied. “Palter” implies making unreliable statements of fact or intention or insincere promises. “Fib” applies to a telling of a trivial untruth. This is usually used when describing “small lies.” I am going to list a few of the Army values and their meanings that remind me of the importance of not lying in the military.…

Sometime ago, I once told a friend of mine her drawing wasn't very good; In fact let me be completely honest here, I simply told her, her drawing sucked… yep I told her that with pretty much brutal honesty, and naturally she was pretty devastated (as it turns out she was expecting praise or at the very least a positive comment since she thought it was her first decent drawing). Either way it seems that the damage was done because ever since she's gone to great limits to hide her drawings from me.So…. Are you guys getting the moral of the story here?If you say "Yes" then thanks, at the very least my words weren't wasted and someone actually learned something from that little story, if you say "No I didn't understand the gist of that stupid, somewhat pointless story" well, let me thank you still since you've given me the opportunity to explain so that this essay won't end with only a below 150 word count, sarcasm there's absolutely no way I am tempted to pass my essay like that! /sarcasmAnyways I won't waste anymore words; the moral of the story is that honesty hurts; in fact it hurt/traumatized my friend so much that ever since that little careless comment she won't even let me get a peek at her drawings ever since. Not. One. Single. Peek. When I get annoyed and demand to know why she won't let me see her drawings she just says (with equal annoyance) that she thinks I'll just make "fun of it" again; Ever since then I've been careful to watch my words It seems that the since saying "what goes around, comes back around" does in fact hold truth. As of that I've been in a moral dilemma, do I keep telling "the truth and nothing but the truth" every time I am asked for a helpful opinion or do I overlook some mistakes and tell a little white lie? After all what harm can a lie do? Is honesty truly the best policy? Will my friend regain trust in me and let me see her drawings? Will I get a somewhat decent grade for this essay? Why did I even…

Every year the CRCT, short for the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test, is given to Georgia students in grades one through eight, usually in the springtime. This is a multiple choice test that helps show educators, parents, the students themselves and the world through collective data what a student knows about the set of standards taught in Georgia classrooms. Before the students are asked to take the CRCT teachers and parents are always trying to develop new ways to prepare students for the test. There is said to be few specific strategies that assist with knowledge review and test preparation. Most educators believe that for students, one of the top strategies to do well on the CRCT is to attend school so teachers can teach you—either in the classroom or in an online or home-school setting! As a future proficient educator, I believe that while preparing students for the CRCT, effective instructional strategies should be used as well as other tips followed if need. In my short but vital experience of being on the field in a classroom setting, this has shown to be one of the few that should be included in the preparation process.…

It’s easy to learn the difference between a good example of an honest person and a faulty example. Honest people show characteristics of truth, being sincere and a well-deserved friend. Honesty doesn’t come easily as some people perceive it to be. Anybody could think they’re an honest person without knowing what being an honest person is. Some important political figures in the world have shown good traits of honesty while some have not. It’s easy to see the difference between an honest person and a dishonest person. While there is one political figure that comes to mind when thinking of honesty that stands out, President Abraham Lincoln, there is another that stands out when thinking of dishonesty, President Bill Clinton.…
