These are the words of Dorothy Thompson,an American journalist,a woman who because of her courage was voted as one of most influential women in the American history. L n g
What is courage?why do we need courage?do we even have it?can we live with out it?these are the questions I’ll be asking today from you…from myself…and from us as a nation in turmoil. Courage is defined as strength in the face of pain or grief.it stands for bravery,fearlessness, and valor. L n G
In the world of today we might have everything from a lot of money to posh accessories, from fast cars to machines that have made us go rust and to dust but what we do not have is COURAGE. Courage to do whats right..courage to do whats fair..courage to say no..courage to raise our voice..courage to be what we want to be.. We my friends….have let ourselves sink into the quagmire of cowardice..which is eating us..running in our veins conjugated with out blood..metastasizing our own flesh.. as William Shakespeare said and I quote Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Let us look at the Muslim world..
We sit and sleep like mere statues while the world’s only super power chases the invisible ghost of usama bin laden,when they kill people over some meager cans of oils…when they make us dance like puppets over their devilish whims… I ask..where is the courage??the boldness…we Muslims have inherited from our forfathers..?the heroism of hamza, the bravery of bilal, the steadfastness of saad? Can we even realte to them now? we have lost our honour..our pride… If only we are brave enough to fight …we can change our fate today and for forever..no one then will dare attack my brothers in iraq ,no one then will dare to fight my soldiers in Afghanistan..no one again will dare to blame my Pakistan for harbouring terrorism..no one again will treat me with disrespect when I show my green passport at the heathrow...
