Competency Reflection

In this competency, I learned that it is important to do evaluations because it can improve effectiveness and increase accountability. In addition, evaluating can help monitor the progress of a social worker. For instance, Dr. Mary talked about how supervisors will evaluate their social workers to ensure that they are doing a proficient job. However, it is equally as important that social workers evaluate their own work. By evaluating your own practice as a social worker, it can help us to assess what is working in the intervention and what may not be working. However, I feel as though we have not learned a lot about evaluation in the BSW program. However, I plan to have my supervisor at my agency evaluate me because I want to ensure that I
