Comparing Genesis And Hesiod's Theogony

Creative Assignment 1 The first similarity that I found is the division class of male and female. In the both of Genesis and Hesiod’s Theogony, it is stated that from the beginning there are only two genders for mankind. Technically, it is unclear when the first mankind is created, but the appearance of the first human is stated in the Prometheus’ chapter when the gods and mortal men were negotiating, (Theogony ln. 317) and Pandora, a gorgeous yet has a hidden intention from the gods. It is clearly written in the Pandora’s chapter that she is the race of female women (Theogony ln. 374). The cause of this event leads to the curse of the humanity, which written that the man and his wife expelled from the Garden of Eden. (MC pg. 114) The word “curse” also lies in the Hesiod’s Theogony about the creation of woman. The gods created woman to be a curse for mortal man (Theogony ln. 385). I assume because of this myth, the modern externalist theory: the myth and etiology applies to the origin why female is considered lower than male from the ancient time until these days. Lastly, how there is one leader/king/ruler existing in both Genesis and Theogony will be the third similarity. In Genesis, we are convinced that God is everything. He created all the various nature and was above of all things. It is kind of similar with Zeus, the ruler and king of universe, after he defeated Kronos, the previous ruler. (Theogony ln. 669) We can conclude that even before Zeus, it is natural to have an individual that has more control in something. The theoretical explanation for this case is going to be a charter theory, where constructed from observations that make a social purpose.
