Compare And Contrast Movie And Play
In the play I think it came more to life because the period of time that was used can be related by more people. Meanwhile in the movie, I think the differences made it come more to life because there was a clear story with an introduction and background for each character instead of being plopped right into the the action. Furthermore, the characters were believable in both the movie and the production since I could clearly tell that each character had a clear personality while watching both of them. If I was the director of the movie, I would’ve wanted something that gave the movie life like extra scenes and characters to give the movie more depth. If the play production was directed by me I probably would’ve stayed faithful to the script

The Odyssey, is a legendary tale written by David Adams Leeming. This epic tells the story of a wise man named Odysseus who struggled to return back to his homeland, Ithaca, after the fall of Troy. In comparison to the text, the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou," has a similar plot and is based on The Odyssey. In the movie, Ulysses Everett McGill is the main character played by George Clooney. Everett and Odysseus both encounter different struggles in their journeys throughout the movie and the book; however, both characters ' main goal was to be reunited with their families back home.…

The changes in the movie are deeply flamboyant. One of the biggest changes is the main event for the cause of the Salem Trials. In the movie, the audience sees the girls running to the woods very surreptitiously, practicing witchcraft, in the play it was mentioned through dialogue in Act 1. In addition to changes, in the play Reverend Hale states that he signed 72 death warrants, but in the movie he signed 17 death warrants. There was only one deletion that I saw that was very noticeable. In the play when John Proctor was accused, he snached his warrant out of his wife Elizabeth's hand, but in the play he never showed any anger towards Elizabeth. Further…

Can the same play written hundreds of years ago seem to be different while using the same script? Not all directors are the same, so every play can be slightly or vastly different. Based on these three productions, I would say that the mood and feelings of the audience can be altered. Certain actors and lighting can change the way the production is viewed. Every production can seem different from the actors, their demeanor, the environment, the director, and the design.…

The book was better because it made my thinking cool and the movie was good but it wasn't how I expected it to be the way I wanted it to be it was the book a wrinkle in time. In the book Meg has glasses and braces and in the 2003 movie she does not have glasses and braces in the beginning of the book it was a stormy and dark night and in the movie it started at the school and later on in the movie it took place in and dark and storming night. The movie and the book they go to the same place in the same time at the book they have no computers and internet and in the movie there was computers and internet. The camazots in the books was colorful and bright and in the movie camazots was grey and depressing.…

Differences between the two start from the very first scene. In the movie we see all of the girls and Tituba in the forest dancing and casting the spell, while in the book they only reference that it happened, but is never shown in the play. This scene is the most crucial part in setting up everything that is going to happen in the play. The fact that the play does not show this doesn’t let the readers actually visualize what happened like the movie does. Another difference in the scenes is that in the play the Doctor goes to visit Betty, but in the movie he goes to see Ruth and Reverend Parris says that Betty is the same…

The first difference is that there were some scenes added or adapted in the movie, as opposed to the play. First, the large group of "stricken" girls, which indeed had a greater number than did the group in the play, left the church meeting at the beginning of the movie to see about Betty's condition. Betty seemed to be much more violent in the movie and she tried to jump out of the window, which did not occur in the play. These details were most likely added to augment the idea of "mass hysteria." A scene was added in the movie, showing the hangings and cheers of the crowd watching, also to add to that effect.…

From watching the older and more modern version of the killing of Mercutio and Tybalt there are obvious differences, as well as hidden ones. The comparison is between the Zeffirelli version and the more modern version. Watching these movies, paying close attention is important because it is not just the scenery and which characters are played by whom, but what the director was trying to portray in this scene. Both these versions were very different and it is obvious that in both cases the fight probably meant different things or played a separate significant role in each movie.…

One major difference between the play and the movie actually occurs in the mood set in the two. An example is the marriage scene where Romeo and Juliet are in a very serious mood. The reader can tell this from the way the two relate to each other. Romeo says that the holy words the friar speaks can make something without an equal, which is a very intelligent thing to say. In the movie however the two are kissing and giggling the whole time, this portrays a bad image as it shows as though the movie wanted people to think that the characters wanted to look like fools and children and that they could do anything the way its normally done, thus making this scene not look very realistic. In real life young adults take issues seriously because they know it’s a major step in life.…

A Raisin in the Sun is a play written by Lorraine Hansberry. The drama explores the human experience in the Chicago ghetto of the 1950’s. It was adapted into a film in 1961 by Columbia Pictures Corporation that was also written by Lorraine Hansberry. The film was intended as an interpretation of the play with many similarities, but there are several distinctions that allow each of the versions to stand as an independent work.…

One of the most capturing scenes that really stands out between the two is the scene that depicts the funeral of King Hamlet. In the play there is not scene that depicts the funeral of kind Hamlet. However, in the movie the scene is present as well as very well depicted. In this case, we see that the director believes that the death of Hamlet the main character is important and key to the production of the movie. The director thought it was so important that he used it to replace the opening scene of the play. In the actual play the opening scene portrays the ghost of King Hamlet that appears to the guards on duty. This is also the scene of how the ghost is introduced into the play. The movie on the other end does not show this scene at all. The director completely ignores it and replaces it with what he thinks the audience will like more or will relate to more easily.…
