Free Fall Summary “When did I lose my freedom? For once, I was free. I had the power to choose”. (page 5). This quote is from the novel Free Fall by William Golding. This novel was published in 1959 and relates to what was going on around those times. This novel has many themes but the most important one is coming of age. The style that Golding uses in his novel is a unique style. This being so because he doesn't simply give it out, instead he builds up to it. This novel is told in first person by the main character Sammy Mountjoy.
