Nursing homes offer the most extensive care a person can get outside a hospital. Nursing homes offer help with custodial care like bathing, getting dressed, and eating as well as skilled care. Skilled nursing care is given by a registered nurse and includes medical monitoring and treatments. It is good for an elder woman or man to be in nursing homes is like a hospital but better nursing homes is for people who is not feeling well that don’t need to be in a hospital but is going to well taken care of . Some nursing homes are set up like a hospital some are not but have special care units for people with special needs and more. Some nursing homes are serve a small percentage of adults can be in it , they are four major are facility characteristics nursing s , facility , resident , financial , adminstartion and staffing characteristics . Nursing facility is a facility that has met Medicaid certification requirement facilities In recent studies “ a skilled nurse facility (SNF) is one that has met Medicare cortication requirements Faculties that are part of hospitals and intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded (ICF-MR ) are not included in this discussion . In recent studies 1998 there were about 17,000 nursing facilities contain approximately 1.8 million beds and 1.6 million elderly and disabled residents in the unites states . Six states California ,Illinois , New York , Ohio , Pennsylvania and Texas accounted for 37 percent of all nursing facility beds (over 640,000 beds ) . The nursing facilities have a lot of different categories and more the nurses take care of their patients make sure they straight , make sure they give them they medication and etc . I think if they doing well and good they will get out early or I think they stay in there I been to one before its something different some people play games or some sit outside and relax but they are nursing homes everywhere
