Research Proposal for Physical Therapy treating Clubfoot.
Introduction
What is Club Foot? Not many people actually know what Club Foot is and how children are affected. Being born with this deformity, I know first hand the affects and complications that come with it. Club Foot or congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV) refers to the way the baby’s foot is positioned at a sharp angle to the ankle, like the head of a golf club. Club Foot is a relatively common birth defect and is usually an isolated problem for an otherwise healthy newborn. Club Foot can be mild or severe, and inhibit one or both feet.     The syndrome is congenital, meaning that the individual develops the bone or cartilage at birth (D'amico J., 2016, September). Pain may arise due to trauma to the ankle or foot.
