CLASS OBSERVATION
CLASS ROOM ARRANGEMENT & LEARNING PROCESS:
The classroom is neat and tide. It is fully air-conditioned and screened the windows to shade from the sunlight. The air-conditioned room make the students feel dearly to the surrounding. It is a projective class in which lecturer teach the class with the projector and PowerPoint presentation. The lecturer is given a mic to handle the class. It is good in transmitting the sound. The class atmosphere is good to enhance their learning. The chair arrangement in the class is not in uniform. The students in the class are not seated according to the gender separately. They were mingled together with their peer groups. The seat arrangement is not even, some students in front row, medium students in middle row and large students in last row. The chair arrangement stage is step by step. So, it is easier for the students to focus prompt in manner. The seat arrangement with their friends make them more active in the class.

ATTENTIVENESS OF THE STUDENTS:
The students are awesome in behaving in the class. They know how to tackle the class. When to yawn, when to talk, when to listen all things are very well done by them. Nearly 80% percent of the students were attentive in the class. And 20% of the people are just being seated for the sake of lecturer. On average many of them are attentive. In some part of the topics, some students are bored and lied on the friend’s arm and some were physically present and mentally absent. Many students answered spontaneously for the questions of the lecturer. Some students talk with their peer groups (loose talks). In our opinion about attentiveness of the students also depends upon the lecturer. Being a good lecturer, the students showed respect, interest and patience towards the lecturer and topics. During our observation, the topic is about Hormones and Sex. The students are however drive by the topic which make bored one also attentive in the later part of the class.

For my classroom observation, I chose to observe two classrooms with teachers I do not work with at my current job Bobbie Smith Elementary in Long Beach, CA. My area of interest is elementary, I chose to observe a Kindergarten and Second grade classroom. Although I prefer to teach a Kindergarten class and not go over the Second grade, I know that teachers never get a pick of what grades you teach sometimes. So I am glad that I am able to gain experience in each grade level.…

During my first round of practicum, I went to a kindergarten classroom with around 20 to 25 students in the classroom. I went to Miller Elementary and Mrs. Schuchard was my cooperative teacher. I walked in and was immediately placed with students to work with. In the morning the students were working on their daily five and phonics. One thing that I observed that I found very interesting is that the teacher had two rug areas for meetings. When she needed to teach the children for a longer period of time, she would tell them to move over to the other area in order to make them have a brain break and then refocus. It was very interesting to see how effective just a little amount of movement was for these kindergarteners.…

“In an effective classroom students should not only know what they are doing. They should also know why and how.” Harry Wong is an educational speaker that tries to help teachers be able to not only educate their students, but also teach them how to comprehend and logically think. Even at Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School, there are a variety of different types of teachers; moreover, this affects the atmosphere of their classrooms. Many outsiders may see our school as boring and being the same as any old school. For the students, every single classroom has a different atmosphere that they either love or greatly dislike.…

The importance of style can be very vital to some and less critical for others. Most say my form of style is not normal or they can say it’s creative; either way you can say I fit in the category of the less serious style. An example of my creativity is how different my clothing ranges. One day I will be wearing a cut-off flannel with some cut-off jean shorts. The next day I will be wearing a snap-back hat with skinny jeans and a DC Shoes long sleeve shirt. Yes, I am different, but that is how I like it. I hate to have the same kind of style every day, but no matter what I wear, whether it’s a skater style, or a hick style, I will always have my old blue vans.…

Each different classroom has different rules and behavior settings in their classrooms. The atmosphere of the classroom has a lot to do with student behavior. The setting of the classroom should be appealing to the teacher and in some cases the students. All teachers should let students know specific do's and don'ts of the classroom. Which behaviors are expected or desired and which will not be tolerated in the class, Ms. Colombara?s rules are fair and respectful to the class. They insist of no food and drinks in the classroom but sometimes the teacher bends the rules and lets students quickly munch down an orange or a small granola bar. During the classroom break stay in the class and under no circumstances leave the classroom without your student handbook with you. Absolutely no uses of swear words in the classroom but some are used when the class is doing readings from novels. Treat any teachers on call the same respect, as you would treat a regular staff at Sullivan Heights Secondary.…

A month from now, I think there are many scenes I would remember from this movie. One in particular is the one where a boy is swearing at the teacher under his breath, after getting discriminated. He also makes vulgar faces at the teacher and that really caught my eye because it shows the essence of the teachers’ segregated actions towards him. Also another scene is when the kids in the playground are playing, prior to that the teacher told them they can’t play on the playground with each other unless the person has the same eye color. There was a little girl in the corner just standing with a sad face like she doesn’t belong in that place anymore. Also onwards when the tables shifted, meaning when she was considered to be the superior according to her teacher her face lit up and she was suddenly happy.…

It is quite obvious that when the students are in very large numbers in a class, the teacher can’t pay individual attention. I think as far as students are attentive in the class, teachers attention to individual hardly matters. Not all students in a class need personal attention, because they are smart and grasp the lessons quickly by themselves. However some of the students who are a little weak can surely get personal attention of the teachers.…
