CLASS AND POWER Human being is constantly struggling with two important elements: class and power. Class can be considered as a group of individuals ranked together as possessing common characteristics depending on the family history, race, gender, and educational background, geographic and national origins. Power is a possession of control, or influences over others. Some people in our society think have power allows them to do anything to anyone. They think they are the only entity who can have the power of decision to influence other’s choice. The film finding Forrester is one of the most powerful example to describe the problem of class and power in our now society. It shows how race can be a barrier for some people to get access to a different class level. Secondly, it shows the privilege of being well educated and well informed. Thirdly, it describes the privilege of having power and influence is the result of sacrifice and determination. Some people do not realize why sometimes it takes time to achieve certain goal, because of being victimized by a society where human being is described as an enemy for each other, The privilege of having determination in life is the most important factor which can lead individual to the path of success. By being successful, life becomes an open door where power and influence become the potential tools in individual life. In the Film Finding Forrester, we can easily understand why the young black African American man has become successful.
