Bremerton 38, Central Kitsap 75

The Central Kitsap Cougars had their way with the Bremerton Knights on Wednesday, winning the non-leaguer 75-38.

"They were hitting everything they put up and we weren't hitting anything we were putting up," Bremerton coach Darren Bowden. "It's been awhile since I've seen one of those."
Michael Thomas had 21 to lead the Cougars (1-1). Shaq Jones had eight to lead the Knights (0-2).

Boys basketball: CK buries NK

Central Kitsap bolted to a 19-point first quarter lead and beat North Kitsap 81-61 in a nonleague game in Poulsbo.
North coach Tony Chisholm said the Vikings adjusted to Central's speed and played the Cougars on fairly even terms after the first quarter.

    It wasn’t until late in the second period another goal was scored. Again, Cholowski assisted but this time Blake Winiecki stifled UMD perfectly placing the puck through Miska’s pads, putting the Huskies up 3-1. Next after peppering Driscoll, Dominic Toninato finally smashed the puck in with only 83 seconds left in period number two supplying UMD their second goal. Halfway through the third a crucial part of the game UMD defenseman Carson Soucy dashed his way down the ice on a breakaway letting go a ripper that shocked St Cloud State tying the 3-3. Then with only 5 minutes remaining forward Parker Mackay completed the stunning comeback by scoring UMD’s 4th goal of the game. SCSU made a majestic effort but came up short when after the Huskies pulled their goalie Carson Soucy swiped the puck in the empty net sealing the game with a Bulldogs 5-3 win.
