Circumcision Pros And Cons
Circumcision of infants and young boys has always been the topic of endless debate, but can a tiny snip actually make sure your child will grow up much healthier? A young professor has pointed out how the health benefits of circumcision could outweigh the risks of the procedure.
The Health Benefits Of Circumcision
Professor Aaron E. Carroll of the Indiana University School of Medicine enumerated the pros and cons of circumcision, citing studies that indicate uncircumcised boys have a higher risk of developing urinary tract infections (via New York Times). In addition to that, it is mentioned that circumcision also decreases the presence of bacteria and yeast in the penis.
Circumcision has also been found to reduce the risk of penile cancer.
