Circular Reasoning Argument Analysis
Circular reasoning relates to the use of a conclusion to support the assumptions that were needed to draw a conclusion to begin with.
“Because he is black, he will never get ahead, because never getting ahead applies to the black population”
The conclusion and the argument support each other, and neither have elements of truth. There is no evidence that black people, or any other race of people for that matter are either capable or incapable of getting ahead. It also has no limits on what getting ahead means.

Fallacy of Authority relates to an argument by illegitimate appeal to authority. In this argument there are several factors to consider, including ambiguity of a legitimate source, the relevancy of the authority, the bias of the authority

    In the book “White Privilege” author and writer Paul Rothenberg illustrates privilege in two ways based on different elements whites and blacks. She states “the characteristics of the privileged group define the societal norm which often benefits those in the privilege group. Second, privileged group members can rely on their privilege and avoid objecting to oppression” (Rothenberg, p.110). Based on Rothenberg’s expression on privileges being viewed in two ways takes away all the other discriminated categories that people put white’s and black’s privileges in.     In America, society likes to believe that America is a Color Blind Society. They say they don’t see race, but just Americans.
