Cinderella And Rhodopis: A Comparative Analysis
The two stories “Cinderella” and “Rhodopis” are similar and different in many ways, and here are a few reasons why.
Rhodopis was brought from Greece to Egypt as a slave. She was different from all the other slaves, she had light skin and green eyes. Other slaves made fun of Rhodopis for her appearance and she was given the most work. This is similar to the “Cinderella” version. Cinderella lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters, Cinderella was treated harshly and was given all the work, this is what makes the two stories similar.
Their are also differences between the two stories for example,“Then he demanded a pair of red-rose gold slippers”(Rhodopis). This example shows that Rhodopis master gave her red-rose gold slippers, while in
