Christopher Mccandless Journey
With the mindset Christopher had, this did not stop him, McCandless paddled down the river with extreme enthusiasm and excitement, in that moment he felt so alive and free. Christopher knew nothing was going to stop him from paddling down that river, not even the twelve year waiting list. That exact scene provides one example of how Christopher fulfills his everyday life, he takes a dangerous situation and runs with it. He started off turning down the excitement and focusing on his parent’s beliefs, now he enjoys every minute of the unexpected. As expressed many times before Christopher wanted nothing less than living his life to its fullest potential. Throughout his incredible but life altering journey, McCandless encounters many interesting …show more content…
Traveling through the city on foot Supertramp looks through a glass window and sees himself as he would if he never left for the wild. He is come to understand maybe he should give up and come home, but instantly snapped out of it and realized what was actually going through his mind. The journey was brutal and tough but was that the reason he wanted to give up? Looking through that glass window at a professional business man opened his eyes to what could have been. What he would be doing if he didn't drop everything and leave, but in that moment it made him think that he started this journey in the wild and he wasn't ending it until he got to where he wanted. In this scene it is clear to the audience that he no longer wanted to live and lie and wanted to achieve goals earned by himself which in our understanding is his own …show more content…
Throughout Supertramp’s journey he tends to fully erase his thoughts of his family and his past. But what is being expressed from this quote truly defines how selfish he is truly being towards his family. Although wanting to experience life in a whole different perspective he neglected how much of a burden it would put on his family and the great sadness they may feel when their son disappears. “And once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won't be the same person who walked in.” (A Child of Mine, 2016) This quote embodies how hurt and empty a family feels when there child disappears, within every family’s existence they are never prepared for when their child decides to

In the book Into the Wild written by Jon Krakauer, Chris McCandless gets portrayed as adventurous. He is adventurous in the way that he just left his family on a whim, and started traveling on his cross-country adventure. “I got the impression that this Alaska escapade was going to be his last big adventure” (Krakauer, 1996, pg 66) said Wayne Westerberg when describing how Chris talked about his then future trip plans. This shows that he was planning this big adventure for a long time and the Alaskan adventure would be the last big advent for a while. Or at least it was his last planned big adventure for a while as he was probably burnt out from adventuring for the last two and a half years. This is important as it shows Chris was too adventurous…

Into the Wild, by acclaimed journalist, Jon Kraukaur, tells the harrowing narrative of a young idealist, Christopher McCandless, and his ultimately tragic trek into the wilds of Alaska. McCandless, having since become a household name and inspiration to many young adventurers, was himself, inspired by the Naturalist writings of Jack London, the Transcendentalist philosophy of Henry David Thoreau and the Realist tenants of Leo Tolstoy. Truly great figures have had a similar effect on others and even on the course of history itself. An example of an important and influential figure in American is Oprah Winfrey, who is one of the most affluent and powerful person in America.…

Logically I will begin to observe and examine the decisions McCandles’s made that prematurely ended his life. McCandles was for one dissatisfied by the way he was living within society, he would rather live as far away from our society then be surrounded by materialistic things and authority. Additionally, Christopher was alienated but the fact that people such as his parents did not understand him, however, loved him unconditionally. Christopher rejected materialism; when he leaves his parents and donates all his savings to charity, abandons his car and burns his money in the desert these acts lead to his believed ultimate…

Chris McCandless was a deep thinker and he lived his life accordingly, but he was somehow crazy enough to try to live in the wild unprepared. His poor decision ultimately led to his death. Chris was willing to abandon his loving family and not say a word to them just so he could go live by himself in nature. His actions were inconsiderate. It demonstrates how crazy Chris was since he was willing to do this, and pretty much get himself killed. He, at the time before his adventure, had a great life that most people would have loved to have. Chris was a strange, crazy young…

In addition to playing an important role to the plot of The Wars, fire contributes on a metaphoric level. The Wars is often given credit for being a novel, not only of war, but of mythology. The story's protagonist, Robert Ross, is occasionally referred to as a knight in shining armour, and his experiences during the war are often considered as his journey. In The Wars, fire is an essential part of Robert Ross' journey, and along with the other three elements, gives mythological references a sound base.…
