As Christians it is critical to engage others in a healthy dialogue even if the topic is difficult resisting the temptation to verbally dominate because,” Dialogue involves a genuine concern for the welfare and fulfilment of the other and a conscious choice making in response to the demands of specified situations” (Johannesen, Vade & Whedbee 54). Although interpersonal communications scenarios or instance may vary, ethical standards must be practiced by onlookers and others present during morally irresponsible exchanges. In other words, witnesses or onlookers of an instance where a dialogue becomes abusive they should proceed to intervene by involving law enforcement if necessary. For instance, in cases or sexual violation or child abuse, the person being informed is obligated to intervene by reporting incidences to proper law enforcement. Although in some cases parents for varying reasons may avoid reporting instances of sexual assault and or abuse while adults are uncomfortable with reporting spousal abuse for fear of their lives if one becomes informed about these horrific situations they should file a report.
