Childcare Pros And Cons
September 5, 2017--Attorney General Jeff Sessions formally announced Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA. This program protects nearly 800,000 young undocumented immigrants brought to the United States illegally as children. The Department of Homeland Security has stopped the process of any new application for the program as of Tuesday (Kopan, 2017, p. 1). Congress, given a six month period, must find a permanent legislative solution to preserve the program before permits begin to expire. Despite Trump’s conflicting feelings for the children, he made this decision after facing a threat from ten conservative state attorneys generals who would challenge the program in the court (Fox News,

However, according to the Pew Research Center the influx of illegal immigrants has stabilized. In 2012, president Barack Obama took steps to create a new policy that would protect illegitimate young adults from deportation and allow them to work legally without granting them a legal permanent resident status. This program was called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival, or also known as DACA. Two years later, in 2014, Mr. Obama made an attempt to legislate a new program called DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents) with the aim to reunite families by also preventing an estimated four million undocumented family members of American citizens from being exiled and giving them permission to take…

Donald Trump Extinguished DACA which caused the removal of education, employment and opportunity for the "dreamers"; Young immigrants were brought to America for political, economic and social freedom. Furthermore, Elizabeth Redden states that is "creates great uncertainty for the roughly 800,000 young people currently enrolled. According to her statement, the removal of the safety blanket(DACA) for young immigrants ignited a deadly flame that could potentially destroy the future in America. To represent Hector Barrett's point of view by supporting Redden, "to exploit immigration as a political wedge issue...would be both bad government and bad politics...The winding down of DACA is the perfect time for Congress to develop effective, compassionate…

Trump wants to end DACA. I think that he shouldn’t end DACA.The DACA program allows undocumented young adults work in the country legally. DACA was an Obama-era program. “The DACA program, announced by President Obama in June, 2012, provided recipients with protection from deportation for two years, which could be renewed, and allowed them to work(Alvarez, 3). I think that Trump is scared of undocumented people and what they could become. If they are continued allowance in the U.S. Immigration Services and U.S. Citizenship gave work to thousands of undocumented immigrants giving them the ability to work, to make something of themselves. The executive branch has legal authority to implement DACA. More than 100 law professors signed a letter…

Crystal, there is Head start centers in many cities for children with low income families, disabilities, and speech issues. This service is free if you meet the income guidelines. I see pros and cons for Head start. I feel this government funded service is misused in some ways because the bus will pick the children up, feed the children, and the employees will care for the children while the parents remain home unemployed. I feel the parents should have to work or attend school to receive the service. This would allow more children to get enrolled for working families who need it.…

In the presidential election between President Barack Obama and Senator Mitt Romney in 2012, the prospective vice president of Mitt Romney, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) was going to suggest a Republican version of the DREAM Act (Wong et al. :8). This was going to help the Republicans to receive more support from immigrant voters. In order to compete with this, President Obama initiated the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals program that would give temporary deportation relief and work authorization for two years to unauthorized youth. He announced it on June 15, 2012, but it did not really began until one month later, August 15, 2012. However, this did not guarantee a pathway to citizenship. Although this was similar to the DREAM Act, it was very different in which it was temporary relief and could be revoked at any time. Over a half of million applied, 573,000 and 430,000 did receive deferred action (Wong and Garcia 2). Only a small percentage were denied. However, there were studies that told that males were more likely to be denied than females and the older the applicant the much likely chance of denial…

The Dream Act was first introduced to the US Congress in August 2001 under President George W. Bush’s first term. This act which stands for Development, Relief, and Education of Alien Minors has become a major stepping stone for the long debated issue of immigration reform. It wasn’t until mid-2012 under President Barack Obama’s first term that legislature similar to The Dream Act actually came to fruition. Legislation known as DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) grants those persons who were brought to this country illegally while they were under the age of 16 and who were under age 31 when the policy took place, have no criminal record, and are willing to go to college or serve the US military the right stay in this country without the fear of facing deportation during the next two years. The issue of immigration in particular illegal immigration has been a controversial topic our government has argued on a variety of perspectives. This issue has been long debated from the perspective of national security to jobs, economy as well as human rights violations.…
