Cheerleading Monologue
Don’t you just love when everything in your life is wonderful? Your football team is going to state, there’s only 2 days until Christmas, and your girlfriend is a super hot cheerleader. But even though everything in your life is perfect you feel like it may be too perfect. I felt like that when I woke up Thursday December 23, but the thought was quickly pushed out of my head as my phone went off,
“Hey boo! I just wanted to tell you I love you and I wanted to remind you that we have appointments at Ralph’s for 3:00! See you later superstar!”
Okay, I know what you’re probably thinking, the quarterback is dating the head cheerleader and she’s super high-maintenance. How cliche, right? But Macy isn’t the stereotypical popular girl people tend

I could tell their debut was almost over so I got in place when suddenly my mom comes up behind me,
“Hayden, I want you to know that your father and I have always loved you and we will continue to forever. Even though your dad isn’t here to show it, I know for a fact that he loves you unconditionally. I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, and I can’t wait for society to see it as well , so go out there and make me proud.”
My mom’s words really meant a lot to me, but I didn’t have time to thank her for them because the announcer was announcing the final couple of the night. I gave her a quick hug and went to meet Macy. She looked even more beautiful than she had in the store and I couldn’t think of any girl I would rather be with at that moment. We complemented each other perfectly, in looks and personalities. Macy was the only girl for me and it was pretty clear I was the only man she needed as well. We met at the top of the stairs and quickly whispered an “I love you” as the announcer began talking about our lives. By the time the announcer had finished I didn’t want it to be over, but I knew the night could only get

Good evening everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying their night. My name is Keyona and I was the one of the 4 captains chosen for the 2011 Montclair High School Cheerleading Squad. During my 3 years on the squad, I’ve had so many memories, good and bad, that helped me grow as a person. Cheerleading throughout my high school career took part in shaping me as the person I am today. I’d like to congratulate this year’s squad for making it through the season successfully as a new team. There were a lot of ups and downs, but I think we handled each situation well. As the season progressed, I’ve formed bonds with many of the girls on the team that will last me way beyond my high school experience. Some of the girls I think more of sisters than team mates. You guys made my experience more than enjoyable by joking, laughing, and having fun every time I stepped through gym doors. Even if my day was horrible, SOMEONE made me laugh or smile and my frown was quickly turned upside down. I’d like to thank Ms. Rob and Ms. HB for giving me the opportunity to be captain this year. They taught me to have a tough skin and to keep my head up in any situation I face in life. If I had the choice to pick different coaches for the squad, I wouldn’t because nobody could take their place in my eyes. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my mother Lisa White for motivating me and being there whenever I needed her. Even though she punished me every Saturday after each home game with washing loads of dishes from when she made cookies the night before, it was worth it. Overall, the season was unforgettable and I wouldn’t give my spot up as captain for the world. Thank you guys and enjoy the rest of your time here at the…

Now if you’ll excuse me, i’m taking your man, and later the title of ‘cheer captain’” I grabbed Isaac's hand and turned away from her walking to the tops of the bleachers. “You’re a fiery little thing aren't you?” He laughed and laid his arm around my shoulders. Asriel looked up at us and stared, as I smiled and grabbed his hand making sure she could see. “You know, she's always jealous. Even when no one does anything wrong. It drives me insane.” he frowned a bit and i felt my heart drop. “You should change that Isaac, you’re handsome, so smart, athletic and funny. You deserve so much more. She’s a witch, to you and everyone else.” I turned to look at him and he was already staring at me. “I- i’m sorry if i offended you Isac, it’s ju-” He cut…

I was laying in bed just thinking about our conversation today. Do I really want to marry Val? I rolled over and looked at my phone. It was 3am. I slid out of bed and grabbed my phone off the night stand. I was half way out the door when I heard Val say," babe where are you going?" "Restroom. Go back to sleep," I responded. I closed the door behind me and walked across the hall to the bathroom. I closed and locked the door. I called Lindsay, hoping that she would tell me what to do. She's always been the mom of the group. "Hello," she said in a groggy voice. "Hey Linds can we talk?" I asked. "No! What do you have to talk about that couldn't wait until the morning?" She said obviously aggravated. I forgot Lindsay is not a morning person. "But…

In my opinion I think that Cheerleading should be a competitive sport because cheerleaders work as hard as all other sport players do. For example cheerleaders show muscle, athleticism and agility when practicing and cheering at games. Cheerleaders show muscle because they lift other people they throw and stack people on top of other people to make a pyramid. They show Agility because when doing cheers they have to make sharp and quick movements with their hands and their feet. I don’t think that it’s fair that cheerleading isn’t a competitive sport because it doesn’t involve a ball. That is why I think that cheerleading is just as much as a sport than any other…

The jacket still smelled of him. The faint scent of cologne was his, as I put it on, I felt something in the pockets, as I pulled it out I realized this was a note. I opened it and realized this one undeniably my mother’s handwriting. The note said “Wherever you go, just know that your brother and I will always love you, just keep in mind that there is always a place in this house for you, I love you”. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, lumps in my throat, before I knew it my cheeks grew warmer and I felt tears streaming down my face. This was the first time I had cried since my mother…

    Satire on Cheerleading

When the word "cheerleader" comes to mind, many think of skinny blondes shouting "go team" while waving pom-poms in the air in short and skimpy shorts. Well, its true. All cheerleaders are meant to do is help get the fans more into the basketball and football game. So, what's the purpose of these dumb blondes? Absolutely nothing. To make it onto this squad you need only a few credentials: you must be close to failing (actually failing will get you kicked off by the administration), dye your hair blonde, wear your skirt half way up your ass, and have a positive eating disorder (any to make you skinny). With these few qualifications, your chances for being a part of this team are great. So, why doesn't everyone start failing and throwing up their food? Being a cheerleading is an instant access key to popularity. I mean, who doesn't like cheerleaders? Their easy to get into bed with, their stupid so you can walk all over them, and they have good bodies because they don't eat.…

Hearing the crowd scream as the stunt hits gets the adrenaline pumping to push through the routine and fight for the stunts. Can you guess what “sport” is being talked about? Well it’s cheerleading. Yes cheerleading is really a sport even though many people will argue it. Cheerleaders that are seen at the New England Patriots are sideline cheerleaders and do not show the physical aspect of cheerleading like competitive cheerleaders do. Although cheerleading is not seen as an official sport it is because cheerleading takes a lot of physical activity to preform and put a routine together, competition and sideline cheerleading are two different…

Tight uniforms, loud voices, pulled back ponytails with bows the size of their head, white tennis shoes, and girls being thrown into the air, is the typical definition of a cheerleader but what exactly is a cheerleader? A cheerleader is a person who is a member of a group who shout out special songs or chants to encourage the team and entertain the crowd during a game in sports such as football or basketball. Is it a sport? I hear a lot of the times that cheerleading isn’t a sport. A sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another for entertainment. That doesn’t exactly make cheerleading qualify as a sport. There is a difference in what some people may make out of it. In some case people say if you compete in competitions cheerleading is a sport, but in other cases if the cheerleader is just the girl that cheers on the crowd for entertainment, this isn’t considered to be an athlete. A cheerleader that competes in competition is considered to be an athlete.…
