Cause Of Obesity In America
There is no single reason of Obesity in America. Some believe that our unhealthy ways are due to our eating habits. Whilst others may think it is because of our lack of exercise and attachment to technology. America’s obesity rate is shockingly higher than the rest of the world's. Our Eating habits in America hold a strong link to the obesity rates. America’s diet has worsened over just 40 years. “Americans today eat about 500 more calories daily than they did in 1970.” Public Health explains in a video. The price of unhealthy food versus healthy may be part of the reason of Americans poor eating choices. One in every four children and one in every three adults are obese in America. “A new study suggests that under-exercising, rather than overeating, may be at the heart of America's obesity epidemic.” Deborah Netburn, a science reporter for the Los Angeles Times writes. The number of exercising people has dropped over the years.“The researchers found that from 1988 to 2010, the percentage of adults who reported doing no exercise in their free time grew dramatically from 19% to 52% in women, and from 11% to 43% in men.” Netburn continues. Over half of Americans are obese. As Sixty-six percent of American citizens are obese where only 37% of the rest of the world are obese. Many people in America are overweight and unhealthy. The analysis showed that the United States is home to the highest number of overweight and obese people in the world. In the U.S., 70.9 percent of men and 61.9 percent of women are overweight or obese, compared to 38 percent of men and 36.9 percent of women worldwide. Our country has an extremely high obesity rate.

There are many causes for obesity in America. Eating habits in our country are not the healthiest. Along with our lack of exercise.
