Troop Leading Procedures and the Military Decision-Making Process are two different procedures. They are used in the military to help pass down information from the higher levels down to the lower ones. These different procedures are used at different levels in the chain of command. They are both used to help solve problems at an easier speed of time.…
Even though each soldier would have been involved in some form of continual conflict with serving on the front-line (trench rapids, snipers, shelling), it is possible to distinguish major battles (or pushes) whose names have gone down in history as some of the bloodiest conflicts ever waged. There were many battles that took place during the war but the most remembered were the five major battles. Those battles are, The Battle of Marne (1914 and 1918), The Battle of Verdun (1916), The Battle of Ypres (1914, 1915, and 1917), The Battle of the Somme (1916), and The Battle of Cambrai (1917). This paper will explain the pros and cons and major details of each battle.…
My strategy in the game was to make appearances in states that shared one or more of my issue positions. Throughout the rounds, I often began by fundraising in order to pay for my appearances, media, and polling. When I raised $3, I was able to fund all three options. However, because my opponent eventually took the lead, I was often only able to fundraise from states that offered $2. In such cases, I always chose to make an appearance. However, I alternated between choosing to poll new states or create a campaign advertisement.…
1. P overty and discrimination must be eliminated for all to live enhanced lives with meaningful happiness. 2. A rmed warfare must be eliminated as ways of resolving differences in regional and national needs, be they economic, such as for food and water, political, or cultural. 3. N ew ways must be found to resolve the problems produced by technological advances, including pollution from fuel use and commercial animal production, increasing extinction of plant and animal life, recycling commercially made non-compostable materials, increasing desertification of agricultural land, and increasing loss of fresh water for human consumption. In any event, with our available creativity and cooperation, we humans must create some positive life…
Organizing police departments in a militaristic manner is a theory that contends to lessen corruption amongst the police officers within the department. Depending on how stringent the military model is followed, a police department could have a well functioning system or it could create quite the opposite and develop a department full of corruption, chaos, and mismanagement. Because a department uses the military as a model to develop itself, it does not mean that it is foolproof. Many factors outside of organizing can lead to a well-balanced department or a department as involved in crime as the criminals from which they swore to protect the public. Using a hierarchy of command in departments gives a sense of stability, it delegates responsibilities and it has a person who is…
1. Paul feels alone in battle and his only friend and family seems to be mother earth. He finds comfort and protection with earth since he’s alone in battle and there’s nothing else protecting him except for earth’s materials like bushes and trees hiding him form the enemy. Like a mother would protect her son. I’m not sure if this has much to do with the Oedipus Complex but since Paul is loving the earth ever so passionately he probably subconsciously is yearning for something more than just a mother figure in his life.…

The U.S. Army Soldier requires years of training to become an expert in his/her individual military occupational skill (MOS). While still a fighting force, the U.S. Army has invested heavily in educating and molding its NCO ranks to attain a higher level of competence. Among these many professions is the Human Resources Sergeant. The role of the Human Resources Sergeant as a profession in the U.S. Army continues to evolve and proven to become an invaluable contribution to military professionalism. The Army White Paper, A Profession of Arms (2010) discusses military professionalism and explains what a profession of arms entails.…
On April 9, 1942 the 76,000 defenders of Bataan surrendered to the Japanese forces. The Japanese then forced their captives to march 65 miles to internment camps which took approximately 10 days. Before the captured soldiers arrived to the camps approximately 10,000 of them died or were killed off by the Japanese. The defeat of Bataan was a reminder of the imperfections in American military…
The Army of the United States of America was founded 241 years ago, on 14 June 1775, with the following mission in mind: 1) Preserving the peace and security, while providing for the defense of the United States. 2) Supporting the policies of the nation. 3) Implementing the national objectives. 3) Overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States. To complete this mission, the United States Army created the outline by which all Army personnel are to exemplify and abide by to ensure that all it's members live up to the higher standard in which they are held. This outline is known as the Army Values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Personal Courage, and the most important…
Being a member of the US military is considered one of the most, if not the most, patriotic titles a person can have in connection with this country. Serving in the military allows one to develop a sense of integrity and direction that reflects the American spirit. You, dear reader, may have family and/or friends who actively serve or have served as US military personnel. Maybe you are or have been an active member yourself. If so, your service is admired.…
The military decision-making process (MDMP) is an iterative planning methodology that integrates the activities of the commander, staff, subordinate headquarters, and other partners to understand the situation and mission, develop and compare courses of action (COA), decide on a COA that best accomplishes the mission, and produce an operation plan or order for execution. (MDMP Handbook, p. 7) According to the MDMP Handbook, “The MDMP facilitates collaborative and parallel planning as the higher headquarters solicits input and continuously shares information concerning future operations with subordinate and adjacent units, supporting and supported units, and other military and civilian partners through planning meetings, warning orders (WARNOs),…
The Army is nothing like any other military worldwide. They set themselves apart from all other militaries. The standards are held to a higher level than most. I enjoy being in the Army. As a Noncommissioned officer we are charged to uphold the standard and in force the standards. We must groom soldiers to be a great product of the Army. There are measures we take into making a great soldier, to include moral foundations.…
When Soldiers prepare for a mission, we as leaders must be certain that everyone is ready and everything is in order. If a weapon isn’t working, if you don’t have enough water or food, the success of the mission, and safety of the platoon is threatened. As a leader, it is your job, and the NCOs, to ensure that Soldiers have all the necessary clothing and working equipment in order, and that the platoon can conduct the mission effectively. We as leaders do this through pre-combat checks and inspections. These inspections build unit cohesiveness and prevent carelessness, lax, and complacency behavior among Soldiers in the platoon. Within this paper I will explained the purpose of checks and inspections, types of inspection, conducting inspections, inspecting equipment to better show why the Army conducts these checks and inspections.…
