Case Study Of Bangkok City Ballet
Bangkok City Ballet is designed to develop and create space to support efficient ballet education and profession. The project is also aimed to create the space for special uses and needs in ballet training, as well as, to promote the value and beauty of ballet dancing to the social. The program is divided into 4 main parts; office area, theater area, company area, and education area. There are 4 types of courses offered at Bangkok City Ballet. Open class which offers after school classes for children age 5-11 year old and adults. Pre-professional Program which offers intensive ballet training as well as academic courses for middle school and high school students. The office area is set at the curved part at the front of the project from the 1st to 4th floor. The theater is separated from the main mass of the architecture due to the appropriation of the function and structure. It is set at the mass on the south of the project covering the area from underground level to 3rd floor. The orchestra pit and area for music department is on the underground floor. The backstage area, dressing room, and production department is on the 1st floor. The seats are on the 1st to 3rd floor with the main hall on the 2nd floor. The rest of the functions are arranged in the main area where the each function is set according to its importance, relation, and activity. The workshop is set on the underground level with the connection to the back stage area on the 1st floor. On the 1st floor also situated machine room and services area. As the level goes up, the functions slowly transfer from company area to educational area with the dance studios at the top of each section. The company area is on the 2nd to 3rd floor and the educational area is on the 2nd to 9th floor. The two areas are linked together with the central facilities in between; first aid room, physical therapy room, fitness room, pillates room, and canteen. The central facilities are dispersedly placed on 2nd to to 4th floor. The green area on the 5th floor is also designed to be emerging space for the users inferior to the main court of the
