Northwest Memorial Hospital has a nationally recognized commitment to quality patient care. Our organization sets the standards for others to follow. This commitment to quality can only be achieved through continuous innovation. A review of Group Health Cooperative’s quality plan may offer some potential to enhance our current process. The following strategies and tactics could be incorporated in our current quality processes. 1) Develop a culture of reliability to enhance patient safety by:
Integrating reliability tools and behaviors into hiring, training, and performance reviews
Developing realtime feedback loops for our goals and matrices
Develop patient safety transformation teams
Develop patient safety coaches
Improve detection of events
