Case Study: If You Were Accepted Into Saferides
1. If you were accepted into SafeRides, what would motivate you to drive?
- If I was accepted into SafeRides, my motivation to drive would be my friend Alexis. She was sixteen and six months when she finally got her license, her father had finally bought her a car, and she couldn’t have been happier. For the next few months, Alexis drove around town all day every day. Unfortunately, her joy rides came to an end when she got into an accident on December 12, 2014. That night Alexis didn’t get to drive her new car back home, she died from the impact of the accident. Alexis lost her life due to a drunk driver, and that is what would motivate me to drive. I don’t want anyone else to lose someone they care for because of a reckless, drunk driver.

Driving while intoxicated persists to be a major problem amongst teenage drivers. Although there are many precautions taken in order to prevent this type of activity, whether by the school, media or parents’, teens proceed to place themselves into these very high risk situations.
