Caravaggio’s Works
Caravaggio, his birth name was Michelangelo Merisi he was born on September 29, 1571 in Merissa Italy. He was a famous Italian painter with great influence both in Italy and with works in Rome, Naples, Malta, and Sicily. The paintings that made Caravaggio were mostly skilled in painting and his works were from the declining end of the Renaissance. His paintings use a combination of the realistic observations of the physical and emotional human state. He also had a great sense of dramatic lighting, which he was taught, at the Baroque school of painting. Caravaggio lost his father, who passed away when he was eleven years old along with his, 3 other siblings. When Caravaggio was 12, he was appointed to Milanese Painter, Surano Peterzano. During this internship, he learned basic techniques, such as selecting brushes, mixing paints, and how to build frames. During this time, he learned the Lombard and Venezian style. Carvaggio had spent his childhood in the presence of art, living with a painter for four years before moving to Rome to work as an assistant to other painters. In about 1595, he began to sell his paintings through a dealer, who brought him to the attention to his paintings.
