Calpropriation In To Kill A Mockingbird
The children describe Tim Johnson to Calpurnia as “sick,” but when Calpurnia sees the dog, she realizes that the dog is in fact mad, and notifies Mr. Finch of the serious situation. This leads to Atticus and Heck Tate, the sheriff, coming to put the dog down, and when Atticus shoots the dog, he receives praise from the townspeople present. This is, however, an example of underlying racial discriminiation, since the help from Calpurnia, a member of the black community, is not acknowledged by the other white people in the Maycomb
