The characters name is Isabel Fuentes. Her character became my favorite because of the kind of person she is. I like her personality of being vocal about her feelings. She is frank of whatever she wants to tell. At the same time her character had shown sweetness, care and love to her partner, Alex Whitman. Isabel Fuentes had shown courage to show how she feels for the person. I was also amazed of how the actress, Salma Hayek played the role. The role was very suited to her and she played it very well.…

Although this film isn’t just about Josh’s life, he’s always being compared to the chess genius Bobby Fisher. For many chess players Bobby Fischer is as much a rule model to the game of chess as Roberto Clemente is to the game of baseball. Josh Waitzkin is faced with multiple challenges that he must over come to become one of the best chess players of all time. Just like in reality everyone is faced with challenges that they must overcome, within this movie I find that Josh Waitzkin and I have many similarities and also many differences.…

Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker could have never imagined her movie winning six academy awards. While the opinion from the audience played a role in these winnings, the technical aspect of the movie all the way down to the first shot of the movie, played the biggest role in this achievement. Bigelow used things such as moving camera shots, camera angles, lighting, and the use of long shots to create a realistic feel throughout the movie.…

So, this loyal audience will revive their past and they will give a new significance to the remake. In fact they will create new memories. The 2011 movie “Bridesmaids” acted as a catalyst for female-driven movies and TV shows. This movie was a first for the film industry; a successful R-rated comedy with female-centric themes, and people loved it. Writer Kay Cannon stated; “'Bridesmaids' I think opened up a door to allow women to show a bunch of different women in different ways of being funny.” This box-office hit also allowed for women to be better accepted in the comedy community, where there is generally more men. Along with just being accepted, women want to change how they are portrayed in the media. Most people believe that a woman will be able to write about a woman better than a man could. Actress Anna Kendrick would agree; “There's something to women writing for themselves,…

Matt Demon plays the main character Will Hunting while Robin Williams and Ben Affleck play supporting roles as a psychology professor and best friend. When navigating the conservative yet vague production code put in place in 1930, studios were faced with only two potential courses of action; subverting or conforming to the code, usually doing both within the same film. This is illustrated in two films from the the decade after the code was created, 1933's She Done Him Wrong, which contains many examples of subversion and adherence to the code, and 1940's The Shop Around the Corner, which largely upholds the code . For example, She Done Him Wrong upholds the code, which forbids undressing unless essential to the plot, by cutting to a different scene whenever someone begins to undress, specifically at the beginning of the film when Lou's maid goes to unzip her dress and the scene is quickly…

Issues of discrimination to transgender also occur outside of detention centers. Kit Yan shared the social injustices he experienced as a queer, transgender, and Asian American in his performance Queer Heartache. He became aware of the unacceptance of transgenders in the US when he expressed his newfound queer identity through rainbow stickers on his new Jeep Cherokee. As a result, his lights were smashes and tires were broken. Like transgender detainees, Yan was out casted and assigned to a secluded dorm on college campus. Similarly to how detainees are told to silence when assaulted and rape, Yan was recommended that for his own safety he should remove the stickers which expressed his pride and identity. The treatment of both Yan and transgender detainees illustrates the degree of unacceptance the transgender community has received in the US society.…

I will be writing about 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This movie is about a girl who gets into an accident that results in brain damage. Then she experiences a form of amnesia called “Goldfield’s Syndrome” according to the movie. Basically, Goldfields syndrome doesn’t allow Drew to form new memories, but doesn’t erase what she knew before the accident. She can remember up to one day, then she relives the next day as if it was the first day after the accident, over and over again. The movie has its strengths and weaknesses in accurately portraying the memory. For the most part, I believe the movie did a good job portraying it.…

Chloë Grace Moretz is the actress who played the young Mia and I have to say she did an exceptional job. Mia is a very sad girl who doesn’t know what she wants and who she is accept she loves classical music and playing the cello. Therefore Moretz had to do a lot of crying scenes and every single one of them was beautiful to watch. You could feel everyone in the room holding their breaths to take in as much as possible. Every actor in this film plays around Moretz and make her do even better. You can almost feel the love Adam, her parents and her grandparents have for her.…
