Bumber: The Socialization Of Dog Parks
The city is definitely in need of a dog park. It would benefit not just the dog owner and the dog but the entire community. We all know that dogs can be very loud and very annoying but all they need is a place to let out all that energy. Allowing dogs to be off their leash in a safe enviroment also allows them to tire down before going home. Which will benefit the neighbors of any dog owner. According to ASPCA, it is important for dogs to socialize. Contrary to popular beliefs dogs like my pitbull (Bumper), are quite scary to be around. Although, Bumber is very playful he too needs excersise. Researchers say that the number of dog-bite reports in New York City have drastically dropped when they allowed dogs to be off-leash in dog parks.
