Unit 3- introduction to marketing

In this report I will be choosing two different organisations and discuss the sector that they operate their business objectives. I will also be giving a brief introduction to the marketing techniques and discuss how these are used to market their products.
There are three different business sectors. These are private, public and voluntary. A private sector is where the company work for profits from their organisation. A public sector is where they give out a service and do not really matter about the profits for example the NHS and the police force. The voluntary sector do not work for profits and they are organisations that work for charity. This means that they will be helping to raise money for a particular charity for example Oxfam. The two organisations that I will be basing my report on is ASDA and Subway. ASDA and Subway work in the private sector. This means that they operate for profits. ASDAs and Subways objectives may be to build customer relationships, to find ways to grow

One similarity is that they have both been approved for the children’s audience. This is because ASDA now have bottle warming facilities and Subway now have children’s meals. The effect of this is that families are now also able to eat out and not worry when their child’s gets hungry. Another similarity is that they have both thought about the convenience of their store. This is because ASDA have added delivery services and Subway have changed their opening hours for the public. The effect of this is that more people will be able to shop at their stores. ASDA and Subway has also added more variety’s to their foods. This is because Subway has added different ingredients to increase the audience for people that want to eat healthier and ASDA has added “new recipe” products. This would increase their market audience for people that would like to try new

    Overall I think that P1 was a success. The group had good team dynamics and I feel that our design was successfully created and implemented. The team met weekly through the use of workshops and one or two meetings. This was to go over what needs to be done and what has been done already.
