Brief Summary Of 'The Fatal Search'

The myth says that there were many people abducted during the late 1840s and it is believed that they were murdered by the butler of the rich family who used to live in the beautiful home. According to the story their bodies still remain in the hidden catacombs of the fortress; and the butler still haunts those who enter the woods surrounding the home. No one who entered the woods has returned. Christine is passionate about debunking horror story myths and has made multiple documentaries and written many books about her findings on these stories. Today she embarks on her journey to the castle of many murders. Before today this palace was …show more content…

She follows the map exactly and find herself in an open field in the middle of the forest. “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is a story about a hunter, Rainsford, who finds a deserted island, where he meets General Zaroff who too shares an interest in hunting. On this island, General Zaroff hunts humans that have had the misfortune to end up on his island. Although Zaroff lives in a very civilized home with electricity and fancy food, Zaroff himself is a very uncivilized being. In the story, General Zaroff is explaining to Rainsford why he hunts humans. “...If I wish to hunt, why should I not? I hunt the scum of the earth...a thoroughbred horse or hound is worth more than the score of them.” (Connell, 64). Zaroff is saying that it is okay to hunt people if you are better than them. In the success of Lincoln’s attempt to preserve the Union and free the slaves, Booth took matters into his own hands by killing Lincoln. Author of the popular book series A Song of Ice and Fire once said, “I try to make readers feel they’ve lived the events of the book. Just as you grieve if a friend is killed, you should grieve if a fictional character is killed. You should care. If somebody dies and you just got more popcorn, it’s a superficial experience isn’t it.” When a character dies in a story there is a sort of shock the reader receives when that death actually happens. Perhaps one of the reasons that “The Most Dangerous Game” is still read to this day may be because of the ambiguous ending that this short story has. The way the story is left off leads the reader to many different conclusions as to what happened. Perhaps the two most common inferences would be that either Rainsford realizes that he is becoming like Zaroff, or Rainsford realizes that he is nothing like Zaroff and takes comfort in this. There is much evidence that supports both of these theories.…

Also in the Green River was the body of Debra Lynn Bonner, 23, Marcia Faye Chapman, 31, Cynthia Jean Hinds, 17, Opal Charmaine Mills, 16, Tracy Winston, 19.…
