In the allegory Animal Farm, George Orwell alluded to the Russian Revolution, by using fictional characters. Throughout the story a pig named Napoleon is trying to make an utopian society, but is becoming more like a dictator. In contrast, another main character Boxer, who represents the working community, is working the hardest out of anyone. He is always portraying the characteristics of hardworking, loyalty, and bravery. Without Boxer being on the farm the animals would have succumbed to Napoleon antics long before they did.     The character of Boxer in the novel Animal Farm is a cart-horse that is always optimistic and always willing to push himself to the limit for the sake of others. “His answer to every problem, every setback, was ‘I will work harder!’---which he had adopted as his personal motto” (Orwell 29).     George Orwell's Animal Farm is a satire written about the Stalin Era. The events and characters in Animal Farm parallel the early history of the Soviet Union.     Boxer, as an individual, had been taken advantage of. Because he was practically illiterate, he felt like all he could do was hard labor and toil all day, every day. His dedication towards his work is a sheer example of oppression. Although educationally challenged, Boxer does become a role model towards the animals on the farm. Boxer’s strength and determination are enough to move the whole farm, but what that resulted in was the animals becoming more concentrated on work, also known as oppression.
